Next season the BBs can send the "invite" to partecipate to BBB, you can accept or refuse. I will take an airplain to meet personally the guy that will refuse to play the BBB.

One suggestion for the future; I don't see any reason to apply the rules of PO to BBB regarding enthusiasm, I hope this matter will be changed

I was not talking about my own team in particular. I do have an extra trainees, because I picked up a cheap one in the off season.

But let me give an example for someone training guards (2 positions). (could have been me except I have too many players on my roster).

I believe that the optimal roster would be:
2 C
2 PF
2 SF
6 PG/SG

So there would be 6 trainees, that will get 48 minutes in League and Cup games. Your other playes would all on average 72 minutes. But with B3 they would get 96 minutes on average, which is too much to keep GS optimal.

So anyone in B3 really needs a bigger roster. So they need at least 1 PF to cover C and PF (resulting in 76,8 minutes on average on these position which is fine).

They also need 2 additional trainees, 1 SF and 1 Guard. The SF is needed to get average minutes lower than 96.

So when playing B3 you actually need to have a 15 man roster, for optimal performance. You might decide to go with less players but the performance will take a hit, as GS will drop.

So you will have 3 players on your roster that you do not need, and therefore have to sell or pay salary.

If you sell you will have to pay the agent fee - lets say 10-15% of (3*8000000) which is 240000 til 360000.
With an additional penalty on future sales as well. Or you could keep an have 14 weeks wages (14*10000*3) 420000.

So I believe that these cost are quite significant. And a lot of teams will not even be close to getting this sort of revenue from their B3 games. (I got about 70000 or something like that)

And yes I could keep my drafted players, and then the agent fee would only be 2-3 %, but since I do not really expect a draftee, that is even close to being good enought for the team if I get last pick. And most teams who make it to B3 will have last pick. And even if there is one decent player, you will not get 2 or 3, that is needed to get your roster to 15.

Yes, you'd have to blow some games in your main competition (or perhaps get temporary bacups for your PG and SF), but you could make up for it after you'd be out of B3.

In a tough division losing games could easily cost the Championship, as homecourt advantage is very important in the playoffs. And I believe winning the championship is the most important moneymaker.

Don't get me wrong - I really like B3, but I do not think it is a huge financial for most of the teams in it.

Im kinda glad that I get to hear about how much of a burdon this tourney is on the top teams. Its our job as people that came later in the game to catch them. Not that this is economically possible. Name one champion of the NBBA who didnt start the game in D2 or better. I defy you to do this. If this is such a burdon to them it can only hurt their progression. From the sounds of it, this BBB is truly a cross for all the great teams to have to bear. Lets pray for injuries, ruined game shape and early cup exits oh my!

As much as I hate to post on global (english), I would like to point out that I started in the middle of season 2 in divison 3 and am currently in 2nd place in the NBBA's (arguably) toughest division. I doubt I will win the NBBA championship this year, but I can beat almost all of the established teams with the right tactics. I even managed to beat everybody's favorite GM in an away TV game due to his playing in the BBB and needing to conserve enthusiasm because of it.

The "Red Vipers" were as low as divison 4 and they made the playoffs in their first season. "The Fish that saved Pittsburgh" could easily be 4-2 right now if they had gotten a break or two. Heck, I was in the playoff chase last season until the last week.

Speaking of the lower divisons, just a quick look at my old divison II.4 I can see 3 teams right off the bat that could easily be competitive in the NBBA.

I'm not saying that starting early in the game for these guys didn't give them a huge advantage, I am saying that with proper long-term planning and a couple decent free agent signings, you can be competitive. It's not going to be easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

The basic strategy I used is to train up young big men, save money, and purchase high quality guards. That's all I did and I'm not even all that smart. Surely a bunch of you can do this more efficiently and effectively than I did.

I agree with this post - the game is very young now. In the next 3 seasons or so, the arms war that is the NBBA will likely start to be affected by salaries rising. The Big 8 must be the most competitive conference in the world. Red Sox Nation has a great team, and he is 1-5.

There are lots of things that can happen in the next couple seasons, and it will be fun to see how it all shakes out.

No

But I will suggest to do that so all the people complaining about BBB can refuse to partecipate (because they lose money, time, players, girlfriend...) :p

I did not see anyone complaining - I think it is a great tournament.

I just did not agree that all the teams in BBB gets a huge financial benefit.

If you win the NBBA for example, are you permanently eligible for BBB? Or what happens next season?
