it's been an amazing season. A lot of teams were close to eachother in terms of squad power and we've had many close games. It's been regrettable that CKC had a financial issue, but if we exclude that, we had competitive games each time around.

i'm concerned for the team going up to the BBBL since normally they crush most teams in II and i haven't had that feeling this season. However, it might mean that there are plenty of teams close to that threshold. One can only hope! This season has delivered and tonight will be no different. i'll recap the interest of all the teams:

OCEAN SIDE

BP vs CST
for BP it's to secure it's 1st seed in the conference. For CST, the result won't change their ranking. they are 6th no matter what. However, a win here would mean they'd get HCA against BBB in the Play down series!

MDM vs Pongo
Now this is interesting. MDM is playing to keep HCA in the first round. Where as Pongo is playing to get into the PO's!

TMS vs YOL (TV)
Now this is an interesting game. TMS is playing to try and jump over MDM in the standings and get HCA where as YOL is defending the final PO spot

CKC vs ST
This game has no interest what so ever. Both teams know their position and it cannot change. It's regrettable for ST that they couldn't find that one extra win because it would have given them the Play downs and some extra cash. That being said, the finances for CKC must be horrendous. having lost 16 games in a row, i hate to consider the boycot of their fans.


BLOOD SIDE

KRI vs D² (TV)
the leader is going to the quake dome to defend it's HCA through-out the PO's. Should KRI win, they get to have HCA through out the ENTIRE PO's. However, if they lose, not only do they lose HCA, through-out the PO's, they also lose their first seed. For D², the reward for winning would mean they get to face Kriflonius again in the PO's instead of a match up with their rival High Rollers, but this isn't really worth losing enthusiasm for...

HR vs VV
Now this is an interesting game. VV has the opportunity to play CT here! If he loses or if TC wins, he'll end in 5th to play... CKC who's team is decimated. He should win those games without enthusiam (i did it with my CT in the cup cause i knew i had 2 games i could win without enthusiasm afterwards). For HR, a win gives him the chance to get HCA through out the entire PO's.

BBB vs TC
BBB would need a big HR win and a massive win over TC to catch up with VV for that 5th spot. However, they need a win here to defend against the surging Starstruck who managed to get some wins along the road and are looking to upset all the predictions and make it into the 6th spot! A TC win guarantees for TC the final PO spot!

STS vs BG
for BG, it's just bragging rights. For Starstruck, it's a lot more risky. They could end up in 6th spot, getting an easier series to avoid demotion, but at the same time, they need to save enthusiasm for their Play down series. It will be interesting to see what their manager choses to do

we know our PO match ups and we know our PD series. I'll break em down later on. First a quick word about tonights results.

On the Ocean side
Some very surprising results here. CST taking a win over BP and burning some enthusiasm to do it. They must have wanted to get the HCA in the series against BBB and i guess they were concerned that BBB would win their series. It does mean that BP has lost it's 1st spot and that the HCA for the blue side goes to MDM! Congratulations for that!

Other than that, most results went the way you'd expect them to go. I feel sorry for the Sabres though. they are getting direct demotion despite a good showing, but in the end the 4 wins CKC got in the start of the season will net them the 7th spot.

On the blood side
Talk about a surprise here: The Ducks have upset Kriflonius which means that Kriflonius no longer has HCA through the entire PO's. To add to it, Kriflonius burned enthusiasm to get there, knowing that the ducks had nothing to play for and were just going through the motions. it's a bitt of a headscratcher what manager krifl was thinking here, but if it's a mistake, it's a costly one. It's means that the Ducks will face Kriflonius for the 3rd time this season in the PO's, knowing that they are going to the Kriflonia with more fighting spirit.

HR did what it needed to do (getting some scary ratings in the process) and thus seem to be showing that they are ready for promotion. It's somewhat surprising not to see VV drop a CT on the last day, since they should be able to beat CKC with half enthusiam. They had 2 ways to stay in II and decided to play it safe, but who could blame them. Maybe Krifl was counting on VV to beat HR and figured that his match would have been made redundant.

TC once again showed that they had the best offense in the league and having made certain that each game they dropped 100 points in EVERY SINGLE GAME this season. Considering that there are some beastlike defensive teams in our conference, that is an impressive record to hold. They got the best offence in the conference!

And the grannies won a nailbaiter of a game, but in the end it changes little for them. direct demotion is their fate
