Tough Loss

WEll the Mountain Eagles played hard today at Lawson Arena, home of the Goon Squad. They fought hard all the way to the final seconds, until Goons SF Makisig Blancaflor dunk-faced on Reg Torres with 2 seconds remaining. In the final two seconds Marcos Tirado long passed it to Ye, who heaved the ball at the buzzer and hit the rim twice, appeared to go in, but went out. Eagles lost 84-82. Here is GM tough. "I'm lost. I am just distraught right now. We had a chance to take down possibly the best in the league. We also had 1 timeout in our pocket. I was trying to call it but Tirado in-bounded the ball so fast.....we were too late. We missed. We had a chance, it's one of these tough losses that are gonna be hard to swallow for a long, long time. I feel as sad as I did back 3 years ago, when we blown that 2nd half against iSmackNoobs. I just...........I just, errrr I just don't wanna speak right now." then he waved the camera off his face. Here we are with Ye Huaien, who missed the Game-Winning shot as time expired: "Man...........I feel disgusted right now. Feel like I ate something horrible. When I missed that shot, I had my arms over my head, down on the court for 5 minutes. I looked like this:(http://blog.nj.com/setonhall_main/2009/03/large_uconlose....). Man I feel so sad right now, I had a chance, I just didn't get a really good look. I heard that we had a timeout but we didn't use it. Oh well on to the next one."

Now here is Reg Torres: "Coaches in Leagues need to do better timeout mangement. I mean we had a timeout remaining. I'm just so pissed off that the coach didn't call the timeout. We could've advanced the ball to half court and got a good look. I'm gonna go to the Commissioner's Office Monday and talk about this BS." Then Reg got a chair and threw it at the camera. Well Ye was the player of the night for the Eagles, with 37 points, 5 boards, 3 assist, a block, and a steal. Eagles now drop to 3rd place in the conference, now behind Rum Ham and Almdudlers.

Come by to Dodge Arena Tuesday as the Eagles will try to rebound against the Manutes Treys. This is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.

Eagles Survive Upset

Well the Mountain Eagles weren't ready for the game that much.......the Shot Callers were and they played one of their hardest games ever. They were able to force the Eagles into OT, but came up just short as the Eagles survived the upset and blew the top off in OT, winning it 18-6 and winning the game 107-95. Players of the Game are Ye Huaien with 45 points and Ulferd Stillfried almost getting a triple double! With 10 points, 13 boards and 8 assists. Another good player during the game was rookie Rufus Cash, who scored 15 points, and aslo got 4 boards, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Also Anatoly Tomilin had a great game with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. "Man I gave it my all right there. I really hope I can actually get in the lineup for the All-Star Game. I want to represent my team in the game. I hope I can represent them this Wednesday." said Ye Huaien. Here is Stillfried: "Man they took away one of my assists, that's messed up. But oh well. It's the refs and at least I got to help my team in the end. That assist on the alley oop to Cash was the change in momentum. I knew by then we'd win. I stole the ball to end it and get to OT. I actually had 5 blocks too which I liked. Now all-star week. Get to have some rest and chill." Cash: "One of the games I will remember from my career. I mean 15 points, Game tying 3 and dunk. I felt great when I dunked that ball. When we were going into OT, I felt that we won the game. Time to get some rest and prep for Blue Sox Saturday. They're a tough team, got great guards, but their SF is lacking. I hope we can pull out the W."

Here is GM tough: "Another OT win in the books, 5-0 all time! Now time for the guys to rest, get back to their families, and everything else. I hope we get a guy or two in the All-Star Game. I also hope that if we don't get any players, we host it! So yeah, a lot of things in hope. We made it to the final 3 teams to have a arena to support the game, now we just have to wait. GO Mountain Eagles! And let's get that win Saturday!"

Stay tuned as the Mountain Eagles await to hear about all the All-Star Game news. This is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.

All-Star Week

Well, the results are in. The Eagles staff, players, and fans were happy to see 2 faces in the All-Star Week festivities. SF Reg Torres and SG Ye Huaien both made the 3 Point Contest. Even though Reg didn't make the game, Ye did. He'll be the starting SG for the Great 8. "I feel awesome right now. Now I get to play against the best of the best from the Big 8 and work with great players that are beast for their teams. Even though our Great 8 is getting shalacked in Inter-League play, I hope we can get back at them with winning the All-Star Game. This also means I have a chance to put revenge on Maksig Blancaflor." That's what Ye said. Now Reg: "Awesome, first one to get the show on the road. Ready to start practicing my shooting touch and make my way to win the 3 point contest. Let's go Eagles!"

"This is Great. After last season having no one appear in the All-Star Game, I was pretty mad because of the controversial voting between another SG and Ye. But now that Ye gets the start, I feel like we got our payback. I hope he can represent the Mountain Eagles and the Great 8 well. GO GREAT 8!" Stay tuned Wednesday as your Great 8 (Gangsters) will take on the Big 8 (Beast) this is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.

My league is dead as a door nail. On top of that I have no Allstar competitors due to out of position training. Though Bryant out of position training was a close 3rd almost 2nd at the sf voting... Pg shoulda easily been Jung. Excited for draft time.... 3-7th in my league are ALL 6-7 on season.

Destructive, Slaughtering, Big Win

Well the Mountain Eagles have posted their largest win in their History: a 61 point blowout to the just created team a few hours earlier, The Timos, destroying them by a score of 104-43. Players of the Game are Guards Ye Huaien and Reg Torres. Ye posting 28 points and Reg posting 25 points. Other good performances were double doubles from Anatony Tomilin and Ulferd Stillfried; Stillfried with 14 points, 12 boards, 6 assists, 5 blocks, and 3 steals, while Tomilin had 14 points and 10 boards. Here is GM tough: "Well, still in trade talks with Ye Huaien, hopefully we'll have already agreed on a trade by Friday. Also we're about to be in a mist of trading Reg Torres and Marcos Tirado. We're trying to get our team young and having them three is not a good idea of making a team younger. Hopefully Cash will make a speedy recovery from his Concussion and hopefully he can come back into the training program." Well, that is it this is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.

I too am "blowing up my team" ...kinda... I am still trying to be competitive enough to make playoffs... But don't intend on competing during playoffs... My plan is to find new trainee guys via draft/fa before next season to work on and to reinvent the Blake Street Bombers. Jung and Bryant of course will be held onto until further notice of course. But even they are not untouchable.

Breaking News

Star SG Ye Huaien has been sold for 141k to a Canadian Team [The Black Guys] Here is Ye at the final moments in a news conference: "I thank you all for your support of me, keeping trust and staying with me in hard times. Times were tough, I came in and made it hopefully easier for you guys. Again, I thank y'all for your enthusiasm, loyalty, and support. GO Mountain Eagles!"

Here is GM tough: "Changes are coming, and they coming fast." that is all he had to say. "WHY!!!!!!!!! WHY YE!!!!!!!!!!!!" said a fan at the conference. "I'm so sad, I remember those Ye times, 40+ point games, buzzerbeaters and three pointers. I will miss Ye." "I feel bad for those Eagles, time to take your plummet to mediocrity." "WHAT!? IS?! THIS DUDE!? THINKING OF SELLING YE?!?!?!??!?!" said a frustrated fan. Sol Scarborugh on twitter tweeted: "I always loved passing it to the Red guy. Always like to see him hit those threes and make game winning shots and entertaining games. We will miss you Ye.
#number9willbemissed " Cash said: "Man what we gonna do? I hope our GM has some ideas....."

Well there it is. Ye is gone. More "changes" are to happen. We will see what those changes are. This is Derek Alston, reporting for The Eagle.
