Having been on both sides of my own statement I still agree with the principle it states. Each team has to do their own thing, what is best for them; however there is a significant cumulative effect of throwing games against the top team. When I wrote that, almost half of Tata's games had been thrown, providing his starters with easy minutes and his PD with ample beefing. The income differential was over 100k and the easy games allowed him to save players in the league and cruise through the cup without hurting his player gameshape.
Now it is my turn. Admittedly this season, being my last competitive one, I've pushed the salaries to the limit. I am making a tiny profit per week, enough to eek out one throw of the dice at B3 for me. I've learned a lot during the seasons at b3, increasing my knowledge of the game, players and tactics. To give you all an idea of how 1.05 million salaries is possible to make a profit with, my staff costs are 60k, scouting at 10k and I get 210k merchandising through my two bigs having grown up in the team and now playing NT. The only way to stop my team winning the EBBL title this season save for major injuries, is to en masse, crunch fest me. The income differential combined with my burning the team out financially in one season will make it very hard for everyone. I'm sorry, but hopefully it means we (I hope it's ok to use we) get an English flag into the knockouts of b3 with a shot and a strong finish.
Peace
