Your center don't need any outside sksill, your Pf or your SF yes...and if you don't have 15 players, often you have to switch your players in various positions, changing for the various situations of the different games. So,if your center doesn't have decent outside skills, thaere aren't any kind of troubles, but if he had to play as PF you have to think if it's advantageous for you.If you think your adversary will play low post or look inside,ok,no problem,if your adversary play R&G...you have to think if an atrociuos OD power forward is a bearable risk

A. A few of the rules pages could use some updating.
B. The match ratings should not be looked at as anything more than a generalization. How can a generalization be accurate?
C. You should train players as you see fit. There are ways of training players to sell on the TL, there are ways of training players to be decent and cheap, there are ways of training players to create specialists, etc. Should they have a you-tube tutorial? If you personally would like some advice on how to train players, post a thread in the Help forum. Lots of people will respond.

At least some light about how is working more or less the zones thanks for your explanation, but i still miss one thing, which is the most important and u dindt talk about it, and its about the rebounding system. Lots of managers are confussed about how is working because we dont really understand how is it being distributed.

For example i dont really see as u announded in the news that it would be more difference between high levels to do it more realistic. At least i got the feeling that there isnt a lot of diference between a level 13 and a 17.

in my feeling the change works pretty good, i have serious trouble in some of my last games with my reb 11 centers, who didn't struggle in the old system. And update in this area seem to be become important for me, but maybe i downgrade my blockers again because i'm unsure if the changes work there.

Maybe charles read it again, was the alters shots also in the old engine? And when it was old could you give of a idea how big this raise was, because the promised additional blocks seems to be missing.

I'm not sure if Team Ratings need to be updated (maybe Rebounds).

What definitively needs to be updated is our understanding of them.

I'm not sure either if rules needs to be rewriten, but what is needed to be said is that they are there to give a very unprecise and general understanding about the GE. I believe, they need a sort of "warning" if they don't actually have it.

maybe they should fix the part about home court first, for relegation amtches which differs from the final thing becuause this ain't just misleading it is totally wrong.

Sorry if I offended your unsurpassed understanding of the training system and game engine.

If, after reading the rules, a new manager thinks that they are a detailed and specific account of how to succeed in this game, then their understanding of the written word is suspect. I think that the rules are dleiberately and unquestionably general. I think it is great. You were once a beginner and now you have knowledge that even the BB's themselves would be proud to have. How did you do it? The same way anyone who wants to succeed in this game does. Put in some effort.

Why would it help if the match ratings were any different? Do you understand how the ratings are created? This is my understanding of how they are created. Each team rating is made up of a combination of player skills, weighted by position and calculated cumulatively over the course of the game. They don't take matchups into account so even if you have a very low (for example) rebounding rating you could still have a big advantage on the boards if you have one monster rebounder playing against a mediocre rebounder on the other team. The match ratings don't calculate how the GE functions. They calculate the relative strength of a combination of player skills.

If people can't get the hang of things, they can post in the help forum. That is exactly what it is for.

The rules of a game don't tell you the best way to play it nor do they tell you how to train or strategize or whatnot. They tell you what you can and can't do, not what you should or shouldn't do.
That said, I see your point and to some extent I agree. I do think that the tone of the rules makes it clear that they are neither concrete nor direct.

I rarely get on the Help forum, but when I do I try to give as specific advice as I can. Also, I often send the questioning poster a BBmail where I can speak about their specific lineup more frankly.
