very bad idea

lots of people bounce between d2 and d3 etc so they could just save all their points while they are in d3 and will pick last for their next season in d2 when they will pick first

back to the real scouting debate

i have actually increaced my scouting spending but it looks to me like there is no-one in the draft that i feel excited about, maybe i am just in a bad pool

most of the 18 year olds suck, best i have seen is a 4 ball skill but not perfect height

maybe there is a hidden gem hidden behing some "word of the street" 3 ball dude who will turn out to have 5 ball skills and high potential but i am sure i wont be discovering him except by pure luck

Are there any plans to change the "scouting season" now that we have access to the draft list throughout the whole season?

After the current 14 week period is over you could stop all scouting until after the draft, and let managers scout from the start of the season till the end of the playoffs.

what would be the point of that?

real scouts are working all the time

when it is the off season locally that is when they often head over seas to try and find hidden talent

for example these:

Sorry, should have made the post clearer. I meant just for this season they could have no scouting during the playoffs so, next season and all the seasons after, the scouting period could be "realigned" to 14 weeks from the start of the season to the end of the playoffs (instead of the start of the playoffs of one season until the start of the playoffs in the next season).

Because the draft list used to be released at the start of the playoffs, but now it will be available from the start of the season.

It kind of makes sense that they don't, at least to me. If they could carry over you could pay the minimum for 4 seasons and then get the same information as if you paid the maximum.

Yes, but gambling the three previous seasons, so i don't think this strategy would be unfair for other users.

Also, from a realism point of view, there is no way your scouts can be looking 2-3 seasons into the future.

True.

Scouts are constantly looking at new talent many seasons before they are able to be drafted. Look at any college program giving out scholarships to 12 yr olds. Professional teams do the same thing. The more information they can get on a "good" class of players the better

Question of Tactical Placement:

Is a 19 year old with 5 skill/5 pot A better than a 18 year old 5skill/4 pot A? Assuming same height same position.

Thanks.

4 being potential?

Thinks its a personal choice really... some people prefer 18 year olds because there is more time to train and get their salaries up. Others would prefer higher potential.

Personally I'd prefer the 18 year old. Last season my bro drafted 3 players who were 19... all with pretty abysmal starting skills but decent potential.

So if you don't get the skill set you want, you have more time to train the primary skills and put the other skills as secondaries with an 18 year old.

Besides, not everyone is able to fully utilise the 5 star potential players. Just my POV.

ditto for me, more money, no one exciting that I have found. However I realized that spending 10 points to get ages and heights really didnt do me too much good other than to confirm that all the tall players, only one over 7ft were all 19. I should hit 10 points next cycle, going to scout all the one and two ballers with that 10 points, that seems to be the best move. you get to see about 15 games for 10 points. hopefully a couple 5 ballers in there that i can take a flyer on.

how many more cycles do we have to accumulate points?

One more week if we assume scouting ends at the same time as previous seasons.
