Part assumption, part analysis of my main PG over the last season and a half (aka, since he’s been bought).
Games where he has had 9+ assists:
-Inside Focus: 3 games (2 LI, 1 LP)
-Neutral Focus: 2 games (2 Inside Iso)
-Outside Focus: 2 games (1 RnG, 1 Motion) (both of these with my best OS trainee on for 48)
Games where he took 14+ shots:
-Inside Focus: 2 games (2 LI)
-Neutral Focus: 3 games (2 Inside Iso, 1 Push)
-Outside Focus: 3 games (3 RnG)
My interpretation of this is that his passing is at its best on inside offenses/not as big of a factor outside, whereas his driving/handling and jump shot are all bigger factors in outside offenses. Of those high-shooting games, he only took all together 25 attempts in 8 games, and over half of those came in the RnG games. This tells me that driving/handling are more essential in the inside-focused games than the RnG.
Again, it’s still a good portion speculation, but I’ve definitely come to the conclusion that an inside focus-offense (or Inside Iso) requires higher passing/driving to be successful than RnG and Motion.
