Yes, I believe the biggest problem is That as new manager, you have to face experienced manager. That is fun for a few matches but not for a season.

The solution in My view is:

Put a new manager in a bot league. Max 4 new manager per side. At least 4 bots per side. Lowest division So No risk of relegation!
First season no promotion is allowed! After one full season, one can promote.

Biggest advantage new manager battle other new managers. And battle bots which give easy wins, but nothing encourage more Than winning.

Only in the dark, we succeed!

I was just looking at staff team right now and Perpete doesn't seem to be a BB anymore, Foto has disappeared and everything seems on Marin
Surely there'll be someone talking about real life and freedom to leave, but I don't see it as a good sign.
Big changes. I wonder what happened with Foto, since Perpete reverted to GM and he went completely out of the staff. Funny I just realised I have Foto in my Utopia league!

Now of course we have this news post. I swear I wrote exactly about this in a reply to Nickleon but then didn't post it.
BuzzerBeater is looking for a new web developer!
We want to expand our development team so we can primarily add new features! We're looking for a motivated developer who meets the following criteria:

1) Someone with at least 2 years of experience programming, preferably in ASP.NET, but JavaScript, SQL and C++ are a plus.
2) A member of the BuzzerBeater community with a good understanding the website and the game dynamics.
3) Someone who speaks English well.

As you all know, BuzzerBeater is a labor of love, and making a profit has never been our primary goal. While we do believe in paying our development team fairly, our budget is very limited, and so please set your financial expectations accordingly. On the other hand, if we grow, so will your paycheck

If you're interested, please email a copy of your resume to jobs@buzzerbeater.com, along with a one-page description as to why you think you would be the ideal candidate for this role. We look forward to hearing from you!

Do you think it makes sense to move this thread into Global?

Edit: Well nevermind, Iguanadon Joe already made a post in Global about the News

Marin has 2 fundamental limitations:
1. He clearly has issues programming even fairly simple things. It took him ages and an enormous amount of feedback to get even the blank removal right. Now for some reason the fan survey is completely messed up because of something he did and he keeps fiddling with it. I get that he does not have a proper test platform, but this performance is shambolic. Get the goddamn source code on your system and run your tests there!
I'm not trying to diss Marin for being a bad programmer, but clearly he hasn't been very efficient in amending parts of the game. I have this gut feeling that the astrophysicist, or whatever he was, who originally wrote the code really sucked at coding and that makes it harder for people change it. After all the sheer number of lines of code for the GE that are on record (tens of thousands) cannot be considered a clean job either in this or any parallel universe (since we're talking about astrophysicists...)
2. He clearly has issues listening to the userbase and refuses to listen to reasoned arguments even after his argumentations have been completely rebuffed. After years of real life evidence that he did get it wrong, as many explained to him before he even implemented the changes, he may go back on his decisions. So presumably around season 47 we might have a change in the way the boycott is implemented. And maybe we will have someone able to code it properly too in the staff. We always hope.

We've been asking them to get him help for ages. It made sense ages ago, now it might be too late, but it is anyway encouraging that they are doing something about it. Hopefully the website design is revamped and it's more stylish and easy too see on modern browsers and especially on phones.

So the day they asked for help (as many, me included, told them MANY times) finally happened. I personally am very happy about it and I feel that if they get the right person/people, they can make this game a lot more appealing.

I'm ambivalent about the whole thing. There are three possibilities: Marin finds someone who can work a miracle and we have a vastly improved game; Marin finds someone who isn't competent and we continue as we are; or Marin turns round and says there were no suitable applicants.

I don't really expect good decisions to be made around here.

To everyone, I apologise for the negativity, but I can't help how I feel.
