In my league is same thing about two divisions. My one is much much stronger. I can say 6 equivalent teams, while in other division is 2, OK, 3 competitive teams. Yes, playing in strong division is very interesting. Possibility to win league is extremely minimum. And other division makes his way to win league much easier by playing calm every game and having big entusiasm in finals.
I know that this question about difference between two divisions is arguable and this is just my opinion :)

IMO a conference imbalance is not a problem of the game, but it is a problem on the team in the other conference.

couple of seasons ago I said same about my II.4 league, but look at this now, it`s almost in opposite way as my side is a bit weaker then other one... just be patience and in couple of season this problem will be solved by it self as other side will get more new team then stronger one.

It's my 8th Season with Buzzerbeater, i was Promoted 2 times and relegated 2 times. an i was always!! in the better group. but i never cried or said "that's unfair".
so take the fight and try to be the best Team in your league, than it's no Problem, when the league is unbalanced ;)

I would like to point out there are other kind of imbalance. Take a look at /league/1826/overview.aspx. Some teams within the same conference gang up together and deliberately lose as many games to the other conference as possible to get better draft picks. Eventually even the team who gets 4th will have the 5th pick. Is that really fair to the rest of the league?

yeah, pretty much nice one... relegating team gets just 6th pick... it looks like conspiracy at the first glance

Last season, and the seasons before are very similar. Is the current promotion/relegation rule preventing this from happening? No.

Seeing this is a fundamental concept of the game, I wouldn't expect this to change.

There was a hue and cry for the NBA to do something 6-8 years ago when the Western Conference was dominant, and now it's a non-issue.

I think you will find the same here.

In the NBA there is no promotion to and relegation from an upper league. That makes it substantially different, IMHO.

I find this issue relevant, as I have the same in my league. This season the fifth in my conference has a better record than the first in the other conference.

Thanks for the link to the other discussion, I will continue there :)

I would still like to see this fixed regarding the draft. Since the draft goes purely by team record, a relegating team can sometimes end up with a lower pick than a team staying up. I would like to see the two #8 seeds automatically get the #1 and #2 picks, the two #7 seeds the #3 and #4 pick and the two #6 seeds the #5 and #6 picks.

Either that, or make it so that all the non-playoff teams get higher picks than any team making the playoffs. This is usually what most major sporting leagues in the world do, as far as I know.
