Sorry for being a little of topic, but what was your experience with GS when a player only plays 48min for the week?

you are on topic :)

what i did was the following...

i was training guards. I played them 48 minutes 1 position and than the i played them for example in SF position.

with strictly following depth chart that would mean 1 guy would play 12-20 minutes and the other 36-28. In both cases this means between 70-80 minutes which is alright for game shape...

i hope you understand what i am trying to say. if not tell me and i will give a more details example...

To get your players to play all 48min per match, I assume you are letting them play through foul trouble with no backup/reserve. Assuming you are training PG, you set no backup/reserve for the PG position but you set backup/reserve for the other positions. For those position with backup/reserves, you see minutes distribution in the ballpark of 36-28(starter) to 12-20(backup) even with "foul trouble = let them play". Is my understanding correct? Thanks.

48 min is still a very good contribution, comparable with 70 min.

So from a GS perspective, are you saying playing 48min is better than 70min? Will your game GS goes down or up playing 48min vs 70min? If I remember correctly, I have played my guys in the 70ish range and didn't see much negative impact on GS. I don't know about 48min since I rarely have guys at around 48min (either way below 48 or >60).

I was able to get my players up to proficient game shape with 48 min. No problems with that.

I know what you are saying.

This was what I was doing as I have described:
Starter Backup Reserve
PG Player1 ( ) ( )
SG Player2 ( ) ( )
SF Player3 Player6 Player6
PF Player4 Player7 ( )
C Player5 Player8 ( )

Player6 would slot in if my PG/SG needs to be taken off as I said. Yes sometimes he would still get subbed for the odd 30 sec-1 min for the PG/SG position but it's acceptable to me.

Now it seems it doesn't work anymore and when I don't want to reduce my chance of winning some important matches I would do this:
Starter Backup Reserve
PG Player1 ( ) Player6
SG Player2 ( ) Player6
SF Player3 Player6 Player6
PF Player4 Player7 ( )
C Player5 Player8 ( )

This way player6 would usually (not always) get 1-2 min of PG/SG. But this way I can guarantee he would replace my trainees when they are in trouble.

it is comparable with 70 minutes, the only stufdy about i see pointed out that 55-60 minutes are the ideal contribution, and every minute more or less counts the same ;) This was the time before the massage quality so i believe the extra 2 min with 70 min get balanced through this speciality.

hey mate

This has never worked for me...

Starter Backup Reserve
PG Player1 ( ) ( )
SG Player2 ( ) ( )
SF Player3 Player6 Player6
PF Player4 Player7 ( )
C Player5 Player8 ( )

The reserve player 6 would start playing when player 1 or 2 would be too tired.

It only worked for me when I did this. There is only a small change, but a very important one. The risks this involves are worth it for me. Perhaps I have been lucky so far, but I had barely had any injuries. Secondly if you train 6 players at a time you arent training to keep the players but to sell. Because if you would train to keep, you would not double position train but single position train...

Starter Backup Reserve
PG Player1 ( ) ( )
SG Player2 ( ) ( )
SF Player3 Player6 ( )
PF Player4 Player7 ( )
C Player5 Player8 ( )

This is indeed true. if you put your players like the following it indeed works as you say it does.

PG Player1 ( ) Player6
SG Player2 ( ) Player6
SF Player3 Player6 Player6
PF Player4 Player7 ( )
C Player5 Player8 ( )

I have always have decent gameshape when my players play between 48-70 minutes. Some people ideally say it is around 60 I think, but during the season I have most players at respectable or strong game shape...
