Well it would be as the above posters suggested; the transfer market would never freeze, but a player would have to be on your roster before x date in order to participate in the playoffs.

yes it could be problematic concerning newbies if there are transfer periods (not only covering the play offs). But then they could be given a special right to recruit within this "off-period" if they have joined BB in an "no transfer period" (the same way we al received an extra 50k when we joined for instance)

and what if your top player get injuries before PO? in that way you can't replace him and you loose

vječna dilema, da li je bolje zabiti koš više ili primiti koš manje?

Happens in real life all of the time.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

in RL you can always get new players. in that way it's too much random. on the other hand you may prevent something like divine trick in HT. maybe you are right

In the NBA, after a certain point of the season you are unable to acquire players, especially during the playoffs.

isn't that the truth......

Now that I think about it, it would be rather cool if leagues had their rosters frozen at some point, like after the trading deadline in the NBA.....

I think this transfer period notion may have some merits....with that stipulation that you could still buy players, they just wouldn't be eligible for the regular season/playoff games when acquired after the cut-off date. You could still play them in scrimmages so they get training, etc.,

So, I guess, it's not a transfer period idea, but more like a "roster freeze" period.....
hmmm interesting....I see a new thread popping up in the suggestions area soon......mayber after the ALCS game tonight.....

I don't suppose JuicePats is rooting for the BoSox is he???
I was at the game last night and Dice-K did not look to be worth the money he's getting.....but Wakefield should have the Tribe hitters waving awkwardly at his knuckler........

in Europe it is like this as well!

No European team can buy a player only for the playoffs in the national championship, and a euroleague team cannot use a player that is bought after the end of the first round of the competition! (in this case he would only be able to play in the national championship)

If your star players gets injured tough luck. It then up to a good manager to changer his lineup / tactics to try and win the game!
