I think the change made a player you bought stay on your roster at least for four days. So after you buy him, you have to wait for four days to send him on transfer list, making you effectively paying one week's salary. You can fire him, of course, but then you just wasted your money for buying him (unless he played in a game that gained you more money that you spent on him, for example Cup finals).

You can still fire him before paying his salary, but if you want to transfer list, it's 4 days. Adding the 3 days it takes for the sale, you are sure to pay the salary once.

Seriously though, I am trying to do a comparison of how much am I paying to win a game and how much of a player's salary is going towards paying to sit him on the bench vs starting as well as how much between league vs scrimmages. As well as how much goes towards not even playing the guy, such as this scrub that I've kept around for a couple seasons now since drafting him just for the sole purpose of making sure I have a full-enough roster for scrimmages.

My current formula was taking the games the week prior that a player suited up for and then dividing the salary the following Monday. In essence I was reflected paying the players after playing the games.

i.e. Niko Ovaska suits up for the 2 league games of Financial Week 5 but I am using the salary of Week 6. In reality I should have reflected Week 5 salary against the Week 5 games.
