I have to disagree with both of you.
I like rubio, but he has no consistent jumpshot. He is a consistent spot on shooter(both 3p and mid range), but when it comes to shooting on the move, he just doesnt have a consistent jump, everytime he jumps different and until he starts having consistant mechanics he wont be a shooter.
He is not near as athletic as rondo, he dribbles his way to the hoop and has excellent passing, but he also is not a good finisher around the rim. Below the rim guards have to go to peoples bodies to make them unable to jump, and need to be able to finish with both hands, rubio cant finish with his left and always has no confidence, so sometimes he tries to give a pass where there is none, or tries to finish over shotblockers giving them space to jump, instead of going at them.
not being as athletic will not be that big of a problem, like stockton or kidd, he has very long arms and quick hands. But until he gets a good defensive team and learns how to push quick guards to help defense he will have a hard time. What worries me is his inability to guard the pick and roll, even thow he excells at it on the offensive side of the court.
But as you can see all that just needs time and work, and he has the work ethic. But he will have a hard time, he will be called a bust, he will get homesick, and I dont know if he is mentally an physicaly tough enough to endure it.
