Nah, I doubt it. From the game manual it's nothing close to patient, although from some point of view it might seem outside oriented. But still, it's also considered inside oriented since the post players attack from inside. It's sort of a motion plus low post maybe.

Princeton is a freelance offense, basically most of the team is usually on perimeter shuffling and constantly moving and trying to exploit gaps. It's not suited for young inexperienced teams. For effective Princeton you need good perimeter players, good at shooting 3pt as well as passing and experienced. There are lot of passes there and the game is somewhat slow. You also need center that can pass the ball. There are lots of cuts inside so there is often an open player at 3pt line. You can call it inside-out attack. :)

Based on inside players who can pass the ball to the outside scorers... so it tends to be outsisde oriented!!! ;)
What we all agree is that is best used by veteran managers, and needs a team very well planned.

I haven't tried princeton in years (yes, really years and not seasons) so I can't really remember what it looks like from the game viewer, but is what you are explaining to me the things you and other managers experience from the game viewer? Because the game manual says something else here.

What does manual say? "Princeton: The Princeton offense is an inside/outside offense at a decreased pace. It was up for debate whether this offense worked properly and efficiently in the old game engine and because of that it is probably the least favourite offense in BB. It was rarely used by top teams prior to the game engine change but is slowly starting to grow in popularity since then. The Princeton offense generally seems to act as an outside offense with a lot of three point shots taken."
It's almost the same what I said. What I said is true for real basketball and I think you can see it in game viewer too.

This is my last game with Princeton. Center got 6 assists, 22 3pt attempts, 28 assists... BTW my guys are experienced.

I've played a lot of Princeton, since it really just seemed to be the best working outside oriented offense for my team.
Even tho there are quite a few 3pts it seems to be taken quite a few shots around the top of the key.
Last season was my first in the top league so quite a few losses, but I'll post some games anway:

When was it changed btw?
Yeah ok so what I did with my team in that season was to have a good C, PF and SG plus a SF who was 55% outside and 45% inside offensively.

My Princeton was not at all perfect, low passing was a big weakness for it as well as lacking JR for my PG
So I basically had the SF, PF and C for LI and LP. (not an ideal inside team though)

So what I did was mostly having a SG who took a lot of 3s, a SF who could do 3s and a PF with some decent JS/DR so he could take top of the key shots plus drive some.
My center and PF only had respectable passing, though I do think this makes a big difference from the atrocious Cs, it can still be done better.
My SG would mostly be on top of the scoring list unless my SF went on a 2p frenzy.
Compared to playing motion I have more 2pts in princeton, which fit me quite fine with my PG who can't shoot 3s all that well.
So I think it is a much better option for inside teams to play princeton over motion (asuming you need to play outside for some reason).
