When Kobe will play in his backyard, he will not put all his effort as if he was playing in the NBA.
He will try to do hard actions with less probability to succeed, and in general, he will not perform his full potential.

No one put the same effort regardless of the level of competition.
For each one it affect some or all of his ability.
Kobe does not tend to pass anyhow, so this kind of level will make him pass less.
He his much better, so he will probably will take harder shots (and miss them... as they are harder ones).

etc.

I don't know how 5.6 asssists for a SG is not passing. So many people say he doesn't pass yet they only look at the times he doesn't never the time he does

Compared to his role on his team, to the time the ball is in his hands and so on, he rarely pass the ball.

In any case, this thread is not the place for this discussion.

I don't like this suggestion. Especially considering how much many teams change throughout a season. It would make things very unpredictable and not as much fun due to more crazy things happening in my opinion.

Phil Jackson didn't like it either - dealing with egos like Jordan, Pipen and Rodman.
Or Kobe and Shaq (each one with an ego equal to the rest of the league).
Or Artest that from time to time likes to hit someone...

This is a BB-managing game.
This is not a BB-arcade game.
This is just one (realistic) skill (or an hidden skill) that should be part of the GE.

So it seems we have our self the new mantra we will be hearing now in every thread?

I haven't bothered to read much of your posts as they all just become boring after a real short while.
But i think a ego stat could be a fun add-on as a hidden skill. But i don't see why it should have to be a thing that only happens to high salary players in lower levels.
I truly believe that there are those players out there that even though if they are playing against kids they will do what it takes to win.

Relating only to the ...more...interesting parts;
I already stated that this ego thing is part of younger players as well, but the affect of ego in general is increasing when the player is much better than the division he is part of.

Using LeBron James as an example:
The older you get, the more you get your ego in check... I feel like experience would cancel it out.

How is that relevant or proving me wrong?
I'll repeat what I've wrote

Meaning that the ego is part of younger and older guys, and probably younger more than older.
BUT...
It is clearly seen more for players who are at the top of their league.
And it come to the extreme when the difference from them to most others is bigger.
