Indeed. In 4 leagues that I scouted for U21, only 2 18 y/o draftees were over $4000.
No players on my roster went down in salary, so it is only draftees that are bargain priced. Hopefully we get some news on this answering some of the questions above.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Yup. As I'm a U21 coach, I see a lot of rookie salaries. Last season there was a C with over 7k salary who took the cake; this season it's a SG with $5.324. Oh, and a HoF to boot, heh.

Of course he has a low salary. No skills above respectable. Probably listed as a SF. Not a salary monster because not mono-skilled. What is surprising about this? Nothing.

Both of us know that mono-skilled player will never have higher salary than player who has same skills like mono-skilled + secondaries. And it is completely irrelevant which position he is listed. Because position does not affect salary. Skills does.

And if you do not noticed, we were talking about new drafties. So how they can have skiills above respectable?
In general, your comment is out of topic..

Um, if you didn't notice, your own post was talking about a 25 year old. In addition, mono-skilled monsters do cost a lot more than SFs with the same number of TSP but spread out amongst more categories.

It appears, upon a cursory look, that maintaining a balanced world economy has been accomplished this season by reducing salaries of low-skilled players, as opposed to adjustments that primarily affected top-level players in years past.

So I guess in the modern BB, it's the low and middle earning players that get hit the hardest when austerity comes calling.

Ok, I will go step by step, just to explain what I was saying.
I see that sometimes people from different cultures just cant understand each other :)
And sorry for my broken English.

1. I started the topic, because new drafties have lower salaries than usual.
2. I tried to figure out if it is relevant just to new drafties or to all players with low skills.
3. I found a player, who is not a new rookie, like you see, 25 years old. But with same skills like rookies (none above respectable).
4. It seemed to me that such player with such skills should have a salary above $5000 at least.
5. We are talking about different things, comparing mono-skilled and all around players.
Of course spread skills have lower salary. I think you do not have to explain it to teams in II division.

But I was talking about respectable and below skills in this case. Like all rookies have. So mono-skilled player in this case would be someone like 7 ID 7 IS 7 RB 7 SB and crapy other skills. And such player would have lower salary than the one I showed.

:)

Hey,

The new draftees still had their salaries calculated on the old method, without the salary corrections that were done in the previous seasons. This meant that draftees received more salary in their first season compared to equal players of older age with the same skillset. I believe Josef Ka pointed this out some time back.

This means indeed that starting from this season the draftees also receive the salary they are supposed to receive today, and thus aren't overpaid anymore during their first season. The overall quality of the draftees didn't change at all, though. The average skillset of each draftee is the same as in all previous seasons, just their salary is lower.
