... but he looked like Christopher Garcia, and we don't sign ugly players to our roster.

Hahaha.

This reminds me... A few seasons ago I put together a poll called Ugliest Player in III.6. Sounds like this should be renewed. I'll see if I can get a new one up today.

I had the benefit of injuring an opposing big fairly early on. I think there's better than a 50/50 chance the game would have come out the same way, but there is a reasonable chance I wouldn't have pulled out the win as well. That's notable considering I apparently have the highest inside defense rating right now, and I was playing a 2-3. That suggests most teams would have been overrun on most days.

I like that my team name entertains because my play on the court certainly will not. I'm looking forward to a season of getting dismantled fairly regularly.

I'm not sure. I think it's been a little underrated because it doesn't seem to work well for the teams at the top. If a team is playing LI against you and they don't have very good guards, and if you have a SF that has good ID you it works really well. The rebounding advantage is as significant as the defense advantage...maybe more.

I anticipated a loss but the injury helped turn it into a blowout.
My team is kind of weird this season so there's a big chance I'll end up unloading some guys. I probably should have before the season started but I've been pretty distracted.

I do think 2-3 was improved some with the game engine changes, though with the cards i've got I'll be playing LI for a while.

Interesting start of the season.

Demon Hoosier is distancing himself from the pack in the rankings, and is the lone undefeated in the Big 8 but has a tough three game stretch coming up (@ Chicken Hawks, Natellio, @ Eclypze). Meanwhile our D2 demotee has had a horrible start to the season in what could be the best 0-4 D3 team in the history of the game.

On the other side cow lickers continue their great start. The D4 promotees are struggling to keep pace.

I may be biased, and while the ranking don't really reflect it yet, I feel like we have a big gap again between the Big 8 and the Great 8. Looking at the Big 8 I don't feel like there's a single easy win on the schedule. 3 of the last 4 champions of this league have come out of the Big 8, including the last 2. At this point, it's hard to imagine the Great 8 survivor having enough to take down the top teams of the Big 8. But, only three more games until interleague play starts and we get a better idea of that.

POWER RANKINGS
1. Demon Hoosiers, 18.539
2. Cow Lickers, 12.523
3. The Door Mats, 6.231
4. Eclypze, 4.368
5. Lumberjacks, 3.897
6. Chicken Hawks, 3.698
7. Thunderhorse, 2.606
8. CA Foreigners, 1.131
9. Fern Creek, 0.477
10. Natellio, 0.027
11. Blazing Ninjas, -1.907
12. East Gary Eagles, -4.353
13. lakey, -6.644
14. Vulgar Flower, -11.498
15. Mt. Zion Rebels, -12.590
16. Southern Beavers, -16.478

But, just so everyone knows why I said what I did about the difference in the conference, here are the flat in game ratings. Big 8 teams in bold.

1. Demon Hoosier, 7.278
2. Fern Creek, 7.027
3. Chicken Hawks, 6.749
4. Cow Lickers, 6.736
5. Natellio, 6.667
6. Lumberjacks, 6.639
7. Blazing Ninjas, 6.638
8. Thunderhorse, 6.625
9. Eclypze, 6.556
10. CA Foreigners, 6.527
10. The Door Mats, 6.527
12. lakey, 6.500
13. Mt. Zion Rebels, 6.375
14. Vulgar Flower, 6.249
15. East Gary Eagles, 6.209
16. Red Beavers, 5.486

All those fancy decimal points make my head hurt.

There is a gap, but I don't think it's as big as last year. Vulgar Flower and Southern Beavers are certainly better than the teams they replaced, and the rest of the Great 8 teams are at least as good as they were last year.

Are any of the Big 8 teams as dominant as T-Rex was last year? Maybe Fern Creek can be when they get their starters all healthy, but everyone else would need to add to their roster to get there . The Demon Hoosiers are off to a fast start, thanks to their high priced double-double machine, but he's 37... and Swiss, so I can't see that lasting all season. Eclypze has a barbaric front court, but still no depth. A poorly timed injury to either of those guys could cost them a game or the season. And the Chicken Hawks lost some depth in the offseason.

To summarize- Great 8 is number 1! Big 8 are a bunch of poopy faces! This concludes my trash talking for the day.

Valid. I just wanted to look smart.

What does everyone prefer, round to the tenth or hundredth? No need to go to the thousandth like I've been doing.

but he's 37... and Swiss

Fantastic haha.

the decimal point comment was not meant to be critical, just a joke. i guess i should learn how to use punctuation to convey winky smiley faced things if i'm going to participate in these forums without offending everyone. your efforts are much appreciated. i can do fractions and long division if needed. don't be so sensitive (see, that last bit is criticism)

Oh, fear not. I was not offended. I liked the idea, whether it was a joke or not!
