Best way to judge these kind of factors is to look around the league you are heading to and look at what sort of team is getting what sort of success.

This is a very quick way to get a ball park estimate. You can do the same for arenas as well.

You can have a small arena and compete if you know how to train and expand wisely with the right talent in salary. But its best to have the arena before hand so you can focus on the team players needs and must do's.(training)

Cost of a team is not very important in my opinion, balance in talent and minutes is and how you use them are. Good luck.

So if you have a balanced squad of all 5k players, and give them all 60 minutes, you are golden? Or a balanced squad of 50k players, and give them all 60 minutes.

Cost doesn't matter. Riiiiiiiight.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Well I have a 160k roster and I might not even promote this year. But I've found that being balanced works well.
Here are my salary figures for my team:
PG---> 34k
SG---> 16k
SF---> 15k (I have a trainee waiting to take his place.)
PF---> 30k
C---->30k

It's been a while since I've formed a D IV that wasn't over powered, but my gut feeling is salaries around 90k-100k for the whole team. Please note that having all five starters at 15k salary is much better than a 70k guy with 4 2k scrubs.

I think if you got 5 guys with about 15k salary and 7 guys in the 4k to 7k range as backups (without too many holes,), you should be in very good shape. With proper gameshape and enthusiasm, that team should be able to get into 5th place, if not a lower playoff berth (of course, that depends on the league, some leagues are much more challenging than others).

Also, each of those guys cannot have holes. IMO, each player should not have less than average or respectable in each of their primaries and awful or inept in secondaries. It is ok to have one or two with holes in very specific places (e.g. reb/sb on a guard), but I wouldn't recommend it. For example, I've used this guy as a PG in D V and D IV: 7/6/7/7/4/7 6/5/1/6 6/6 (right now he's just a scrimmage scrub for me). A guy like that can probably be found for less than 10k on the transfer list. Hope this helps.

Who has a team full of 50K layers in D4?, Why bring up jack a** scenario for your own benefit to be right in the matter.?

If you can read and correct people all the time then you clearly see ,I said get the right balanced players within a budget. Then budget accordingly with the proper training . If you think I said anything otherwise then keep your sorley mistaken.

Cost of the team is not that important along as you have the right team in skills and for the budget. Not every player is going to cost 50K, not every player is going to cost 5K. It depends on what you need in skills or have in skills, not the cost of him. Cost mean very little when building,

This game is built player skills not player cost. How much he cost don't mean your going to win every game. If that what your trying to say then that's your personal idealistic ways of play.. I really don't agree with that.

Cost and budget are sorta related by the way.
