Absolutely, first home game should have a boost, it's also the only realistic thing (people always want to see how the team's going to look this year). Maybe, just maybe, I would also add it to Fan Survey, so that the home season opener would be more important and it would affect the attendance for the entire season.

as much as i want it to happen its really hard

one thing we must understand in real life, if for example you dont build your team up or last season you were just a lost away from relegation or your team didnt perform very well to be competitive

its hard for fans to come in and cheer knowing the first game will eventually be a lost.

truth is i love your idea and this , i to need it . . . but


Maybe those teams would only get a 5% boost?

Brilliant idea. +1. And extremely true to life. I'd even propose it should be likely to sell out unless ticket prices were ridiculously high or the team clearly didn't have a roster that could be competitive. Otherwise, in real life fans are always optimistic and the home opener is a sellout, because its a fresh start, and this could be the year you win it all in the fans' mind.
