Normally in real ball you would set a tactic to deny inside/contest outside. And regardless of what your opponent did, your team would still defend that area that way.
You have defensive tactics to do that, don't you?

GDP is more like scouting/training specific defensive movements to counter offensive sets run by the opponent. It goes without saying that if the opponent isn't running those sets, you wasted training time on a defensive plan which turns out to be useless (the opponent runs different sets for which you're not prepared, because you prepared for the wrong ones and that prevented you also from training an all round defense).

We should get direct boosts again certain styles of attack, that includes all plays of that type, showing that our team trained and set for that type of defence. Period.
Ok so if you predict inside you're willing to weaken your outside defence by default? It looks to me you want something like a boost against inside shots, mid range jumpers or long jumpers and threes. You also want it to be a default boost applicable all the time against certain types of shots. It logically follows that in your scenario, if you predict inside, your team should also get worse by default at defending any type of shot taken outside the area, is this correct?

I see GDP as specific preparation against a team. It might be phrased somewhat incorrectly but that's the idea behind it. If you jinx the prediction, you wasted training time by preparing to defend the wrong offensive tactic and you'll be just less performing. In real life it might be specific training to defend the pick and roll or specific horns sets for days and then the other team just plays mostly in isolation down low or on the perimeter during the game.

gdp only defend the defense to best of the team ability to do so .. you can win if they are slacking with few thing. , but the better balanced team will always .

does inside gdp defend outside... yes and no. depends on the foe and your team... you can lose from the outside if the team is balanced. nothing is taken away from the team outside game if they actually have that ability, it just will be harder to score inside. to defend his jumpers this will depend I guess gs/stamina. od im gueesing..

this goes for vice versa with outside gdp.

Yeah, but Marin seems to be open to reduce the effectiveness of OD in some areas, we just need a good push

No, you would have to change the foul trouble option
