Red is pounding the blue side for the first time in recent memory though.

The red side doing better in the relegation playoffs probably had a little to do with that, as well as us getting probably the two best promoted teams.

I think Bergkamp has a good chance of getting out of the blue side, but I'll probably take whoever has HCA between him and Vecx.

I agree with both comments.

Also, that I'm able to aurvive with the same team as last season and J Dog is also doing ok means the difference betwewn D2 and D1 is smaller than ever.

Agree again but with the slight caveat that not all the D2s are equal.

Today could be the first time ever that all Reds beat Blues in away games.

Unlikely since Vecx is playing at home and is out of the cup and my guys are trying hard to lose.

lol my game was beyond ridiculous. I have a 55% FT shooter going 1-4 in the last 35 seconds of 1OT, 0-2 in the 2OT and fouling on the other end with 0:00 remaining in the 1OT. Incidentally he went 0-8 (and 1-6 on 3 fouls) with 89.1 PP100. And let's just ignore the 28 ORs.

Yeah, we were super lucky, didn't deserve to win that at all...

Looking at ratings I wouldn't say that. I think it was 50/50 and you deserved your win. Sometimes weird stuff happen in this game. Feeney is a weaker version of Marichal but he's still very good offensively, so he has no business going for 0 points and 1-6 on critical FTs, but I didn't help myself with wrong GDP, no scouting (wouldn't have played battazza and my rebounding would be better) and no National Appeal PR. Any of these would have been enough to win it, so I have mostly myself to blame.

No criticism meant when I say this: if ratings decided games I'd be 3-10. And 0-7 against great 8 teams.

Not sure what you're on about: you'd be 4-3 against red, which is exactly how you did. The only wins you have with worse ratings are Wombats and Tallfellas and in both cases the difference was minimal. Surely you are not including the several games where you had garbage time in your calculations.

Rating do usually predict the winner very reliably when considered together with the tactics used. Within a margin of error (and both games mentioned above had less than 5 bbstats between you and your opponent). Also the same ratings from a balanced team vs very unbalanced teams will yield different results as the ratings are simply a weighted average of the contributions of the single players.

In any case I was referring to rebounding in this case which is pretty unequivocal (3 full levels difference) and do explain how I got 29/57 defensive rebounds and he got 37/44.

i should've realised that as soon as I posted this it would mean I get Bergkamp in the cup

Oh well, at least I've got decent game shape this week and might not get disgraced

Well done on finally making a thread macca! Though for some reason this is the first time I've realised you made it - When I read it and until now I was sure it was Erkboy.

My team is currently looking about as reliable as my thread making promise was. Struggling to a 13 pt win vs Durham (at home, with more effort) and then whatever yesterday was (a combination of dodgy tactics, another ingame injury, and Willis/Westcott playing again unexpectedly (both were on 85+ before yesterday)).

I didn't fancy I could win the cup tbh, you've gotta get so lucky or beat a lot of good teams to do it. (so now I get to not be in the cup AND not be able to catch Vecx in the league XD )

So it's probably a Tide of Fire league (I sense a 4/5m purchase soon, it's been a while), and A Dogs cup repeat of last season for me.
