As far as I know, doctors don't do anything anymore after the injury has occurred.

EDIT: there should be a little effect according to the manual:

"Doctors help reduce the severity of player injuries. Once a player is injured, a Doctor will also help him heal more quickly, but the effect is much smaller than the initial reduction in severity."

Update:
The case in old opinion is not a counterexample. I made some mistakes. I find a new counterexample in (305388.15).
@Sakiz105: You're right. 6/24 was covered in my count.

Old opinion:
My opinion was the same with yours before this player /player/39867335/history.aspx was injured.
The following is the information in Injury Tracker. When the injury got down to 1 week, it took 8 days to heal.

The injury updated from 2 weeks to 1 week on 6/25 (Thu.). If he had taken another 7 days to recover, he would have been healed on 7/3 (Fri.) In fact, he was healed on 7/4 (Sat.).
