Do you know which ads specifically? I'll see if I can turn those off (we're using a banner network, so we don't have a *lot* of control over which ads they show)
I do not remember who delivers the ads, but when they are loaded, the problem is greatest when both spots for ads are loaded with flash. Specially the ones telling me I have won something, then not even the scroll-mouse is working. The page looks frozen, so the end looks to be here. But do not worry too much, my dad has bought me Supporter!

Can anyone explain why people even create these ads and if they are effective? I get that BB.com gets money for hosting them, but why would anyone click some of the nonsense ones? How do they make money by placing an ad saying "Fart Button: Press it!"

I'm looking at the University of Liverpool banner here and....there is a little asterik followed by 'participation required.' You mean I have to participate, that is to say what, take a class or read a book, if I want to get a degree?

I'm not clicking on that banner. Give me an online university that awards credentials without my participation!
