Yeah, the fact that the 5th place team gets no income and less games during the playoffs than the 6th and 7th place teams is one of the biggest flaws in BB. It just seems like there should be a home-and-home between the two fifth place teams during the playoffs to bring in some more revenue and have additional training opportunities. Very easy fix yet it hasn't been done.

I'm guessing it's because the BBs don't agree?

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be sarcastic reply or not, but I guess my point is it seems better to finish 6th (or possibly 7th) rather than 5th. By finishing 6th or 7th you get more revenue, more training opportunities, and the right to pick higher in the draft. Of course you don't have to fight a relegation battle, but all things considered I'd probably prefer to finish 6th.

If BB doesn't agree, I'd like to understand why.

...and you risk relegation.

No, it's not.

If it was something they felt was broken, they'd fix it.

The problem here is with the lower revenue teams. In my case, I'm a D-III team in my 2nd season and I brought in less than $1M net this season. My weekly expenses are more than $100k/week, so two weeks without revenue (which is what happens during the playoffs for a 5th place team) can be a sizeable cut into a team's cash reserve.

Avoiding relegation should be a reward, not a burden. While I understand if you are D-I or D-II guaranteeing your position in the league is probably more valuable than getting an extra week of income. However, for most of the teams in this game (D-IV), teams who lose the relegation series end up being promoted back to D-IV due to bot cleanup. So there is no penalty for those teams. And the loss of revenue makes a difference.

this season i got happy to finish at the sixth place instead of 5, but i' m pretty sure that i don't get such an easy relegation game the next time ;)

Especially with a away game on place 7 i would say, place 5 is much better.

As a GM, than please explain to all off us, what the reasoning is behind 5th place missing out on the extra training? It is always easy to say "If it was something they felt was broken, they'd fix it." It is a huge disadventage and a very unfair one. I can see the fact that the top 4 teams should get an advantage for reaching the playoffs, well dont they get extra match income? That is already a big enough advantage. Also, in real life, would a team missing out on playoff relegation games stop training? I very much doubt it. It is a flaw, and a huge disadvantage and most off all very unrealistic.

On top off that, I can understand why BB wouldn´t want to fix it either. How many 5th placed teams are there, especially 5th placed teams that are seriously enough playing BB to realise this is happening. Very few, so why fix something for only a handfull off people, when they are surely loads off other "more important" things to fix??

a gm is not a BB, he is a volunter who helps to organize it, but has no deeper knowledge about the game or coming changes then a normal user could have.

i understand this. i didnt ask him to explain the game, just what reasoning he has that the 5th placed teams from all the teams in league have to miss out on training and extra income.
