this could bring unwanted effects.

say you play look inside, and you are behind by 5 at half time, so your coach switches to run and gun.
Say look inside was the right tactic, but you got off to a bad start and where still able to win it, you might now loose by 15 points because run and gun works much worse...

However I do not argue that more options is always pleasant I think that in this case it would mean more gambling and less real tactical game play. What will the other player play each quarter? what should I play to counter his tactics?
This will be very hard and more then often gambling will take place. Is this what we want?
Personnaly I don't like that idea.

maybe it needs a time to settle a game into some kind of stereotype, now is every game so unreal just because there are lot of so different and bad players...

tactic isn't point of winning or losing at these days mostly (as far I see from my xp)

maybe you can have a look at my cup finals. My team was not as good as my opponent's, yet I won the game.
Maybe I am wrong, but I believe the reason why I won the cup was pure tactics...

i don't see another strtegic element in it, it goes a bit more to more random for me or the same strategical inpact.

i dont see any problem with this but it really is going to be hard work not just on us but on bb too

but come on! if you are going to mix offenses along quarters unless you have a all around team meaning all of them can play inside and out no matter what skill level there is then its ok

but this could give you another work of setting your lineup

and lastly if this was done probably . . . if you are diligent enough to make things jumble around, but normally ill see players just play it out already.

too much work, one of the beauty of bb is the simplicity it gives to its users navigating doing this makes it more work :D

when i mixed offense i could play push the ball, today ;)

I don't know what it brings if you had to look the oppponent tactic one times or forut times every quarter, when you are unsure play man-to-man or push the else, else play something like insidefocus, switching it very quarter has nothing to do with tactics for me.

It's a great idea. Give the coach more chances to change the game consideing the actual coach does not when the game is not going your way.

The coach does adjust tactics over the course of the game. Consider part of the last News item:

• Game Engine Update: 1st Quarter Logic – We’ve improved the learning algorithm used in our game engine, so the in-game coach will learn to shift tactics slightly earlier in the game. This will lead to first-quarter scores that are more consistent with the team’s performance during the rest of the game.

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

i wrote that before the update so thabks for the heads up

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.

I told that because when i played in run & gun, i'd never seen a team to shoot 35 3pts in a game!!!

I propose to choose the strategy before the game for each quarter or each halftime ;)

The coach doesn't actually shift the tactics that you have specifically set prior to the game. He shifts his decision making process, which consists of calling timeouts, when and who to rotate, etc.

But yeah, back on topic. I really like this idea. I think this game would be better off in the long run if the strategic aspects are more in-depth. Right now, the game isn't complex enough for me. I only spend a few minutes researching my opponents and customizing my lineup/tactics, which there aren't many options to begin with.
