So with that logic in mind, its better to Err on the side of having not enough players (10-11) then having too many (14+ ) because its benefical to have good gameshape. Of course, you'd need to avoid extended injuries by having a lvl 10 doctor.

I find it useful to have a couple extra players so that you can fill out the lineup for the scrimmages, without worrying about a starter getting too many minutes or being injured. With 10 players and 3 games, the best you can do is have all 10 get 72 minutes. But more likely, you will have a few closer to 90 or 100.

well if you do it right, in my experience, you can have 8 players in the scrimmage each week with a roster of 11 players.
