I've learned to work with this so that I don't miss any players on transfer lists. You just have to take into account the the main clock/current time zone when looking at when a players closes.

In the meantime while you guys are sorting this out, maybe just add a news update or something that when looking at transfer/game times you need to be sure you know what time zone it's based on.

well we need a complete list of timezones and their properties....

its more complicated than just what the difference is cause the difference will also change as a function of daylight savings time, and daylight savings is observed during different periods in different areas... so a naive implementation is going to get thrown off when daylight savings time switches unless we can get an exhaustive list of all time zones and their daylight savings properties (which also change from year to year making it more of a headache...)

this is why we went with the (local) time solution.... I still think the local time can be adjusted to make it accurate within the second... this is just one of the many little things that need to get done.. but haven't because of lack of developers and other higher priorities....

We just got Domenico on staff.. we need to sit down and make up a long list of these smaller issues and sick him on them all....

I searched on google and the first website i found has the list of the timezonse and the exact dates in which daylight saving times start and end everywhere in the world, and also when they will start next year.

http://www.worldtimezone.com/daylight.htm

I believe this is something that is decided in very big advance, so it shouldn't be a problem to set it up once per year.

I agree that its possible.. but we'd need to build the database with that data.. build an interface for that database so you could set your timezone in your profile, then change the time code to read out that data from the database, and setup a way to maintain that database (GM tool maybe?)... all very doable things.. they just require man hours of development that we are running short on right now, and in the grand scope of things it hasn't been the top priority. I keep meaning to look into the quick fix i came up with but haven't found the time.. maybe this weekend in between getting the all star game working..
