guess who will finish rebuilding first? ;) LAL or PHX. I still think JJ is better than Lonzo lol

If the Suns had the first pick I would have still chosen Josh Jackson, I think he's the perfect fit for Phx. Fultz would have been a great choice for the Suns too. As freakish physically as Jason Tatum is, I was praying the Suns would not end up with him...Despite Lonzo's Summer leagues Triple doubles, I am still not sold on him....As of this minute, the Suns are clearly ahead of the Lakers in their rebuilding efforts...however, if Lebron ends up with the Lakers in 2018, that can change overnight.

That said, all of a sudden with the Suns hiring James Jones as their VP of Operations, there is talk that the Suns could be a potential suitor for Lebron.

Regardless I hate the Lakers!

Regardless I hate the Lakers! L:)

Steve Nash is my favorite player of all time so I hesitate to say this, but I kind of like the fact that after knocking them out of the playoffs a couple times, his best defeat of the Lakers was making them waste two years of salary on him and ushering in the worst stretch of that franchise's history.

Me too, and I totally agree...hated seeing Nash go out that way...but we stole from the Lakers and set them back. Good stuff :-)

Hey guys, I was going through some old bookmarks today and I came across Wesley Starnes (31634369). I was surprised and super sad to see he was retired a couple seasons ago. He was an incredible player... achieved ratings of 19, 20, and as high as 21 playing as a small forward and his most recent transfer price was $9 million. Does anyone know how a player of this quality gets retired so young?

okay so I looked up some rules for you, which were changed seasons ago.

Nowadays players with salaries over 80K will retire directly if their teams went bot (despite the reasons, cheating, inactivities, etc.) The only method to save these players is having NT coaches take them into NT before these teams completely go bot (so the BB god will later sell them regardless of their salaries). Therefore unfortunately players like Starnes that is super solid but not good enough as NT or strong NT candidate will unfortunately have to retire (or if NT staffs were too busy to notice). NT's have their limited numbers of roster changes allowed as well.

Sometimes retired players from bots with high potential and youth (18y/o mostly) will be placed in the market as well, but the safest way is having NT or U21 coaches place them on the roster, like how Dwight Coward put 18yo LeBron Johns (that name though) in NT earlier this season.

Purpose of doing this? IDK. I remember there were a lot of complaints regards to this though.

Thanks for looking that up. Last I remembered, 34 and older was retired automatically but it's changed so many times now I just can't keep up.

As for purpose, I'm clueless too. Seems like a bad move with the current market. I hate how a player like that takes years of real life to develop and they remove him on a whim.

It's the other side of the coin with the new set up of having all the bot teams taken out of the mix in the early rounds. This is going to be come the new norm which I think is ok. Better now than get a bad draw in the early rounds
