There is indeed no need for a spectacular rise in block shots, overall it may remain the same. But what is wrong in my opinion it is the distribution.
Players with bad shotblocking (timing/technique/reaction time) should make a lot less blocks, and even get a foul on some attempts to block. This should affect especially the PF/C, because they have more blocking attempts in help defense.
The high skilled shotblock players should make the most blocks and are less likely to make a foul. They know when to try and when not, better timing etc.

Offcourse this also depends on the opposing players, but according to the reactions of multiple players the shotblocking skill has not the value an independent stat should have.

a compromise solution could just be to scrap the blocking skill at all, and adding 0.25 levels of ID for every level of shot blocking above "average". dunno, might make sense.

that's the way i liked it(cit.)

holy mackarel, how many times do I need to state my case?

I'll point you to one of my n previous posts for a point-by-point rebuttal of what you are stating. sorry, it's survival of the fittest, you don't bail out users who could've made informed decisions but chose to go with "la la la I'll pick a training and stick with it for two months even if my player's on-court performance hasn't improved a dime" instead.

This isn't about bailing out users -- let's not be adverse to a few little changes and improvements...its about producing a simulation that's true to the game of basketball. All the management games are about adapting anyway.

No politics in the BB forums, eh

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

but in very field of life, there are things more important than other. In BB certainly shot blocking is the less useful skill of"inside skill" for a center,so,if you want to train him a little it's ok(the previous proposal of dr.jan itor. is good),but if you think that is as important as tho other...

at the least it should be reduced the impact of SB on the salary (and thus on the potential cap). That wouldn't penalize those who did not train it, it would be just fair for those who did train it.

edit: if it's kfir ravid, you could have just checked his SB numbers in the past few seasons before buying.

I was one of the 'naive' users who thought that SB somehow contributed to the defense (as common sense suggests me).
Maybe in the future I'll find out that handling and passing only impact TOs and assists and not the shot distribution too...
