So, you mentioned it takes longer to get pops for IS on Short Players"...what is considered short?

Ok great. I remember reading that any trainee under 6ft3 pops really slow for IS and I'D unless it's done while he is under 20. Thanks again man. It's amazing the stuff I learn about training after playing this so long. Not sure what my next step is with what I already have. I just put my PG on the TL and hang on to my other outside player who I trained since he was 19 which he is at 116 TSP and only 25. May either try to get a vet stud SF and continue training a couple of big trainees.....or I may sale and start rebuilding over the next few seasons and keep adding to my arena.

Yes, understand. I think the previous managers that said that actually meant what you just wrote.

rants...they might be
but I am interested in those sort of talks. It's my way of assessing the game's overall health (sadly - and I know I might have been a dreamer on that hoping this would be any different - a lot of games have pretty much the same "plagues" going on)

Anyway, I do like and appreciate your advice on the trainer bit. It feels more like an encouragement, but I needed that. As it is the case with everything else, I do compare this game's mechanics with the mechanics of other games that I play. In most of them, the coaches are a fairly affordable and easy to get at their highest level. Here though the coaches obtaining methods are a tad different, which led me to believe that their role is far greater and more versatile than in any other game (to the point that it could be the game's trademark).

That being said, it has been a while since I've started playing this and I have to admit that the game grew on me (could be that the whole corona thing has helped a bit). Overlooking that few cases where I got annoyed by having to deal with sketchy teams, I always found something to do after logging in (I don't need a second team just yet, but that might happen if my interest progression happens at the current pace). I am definitely most thrilled about the training part (it doesn't happen as slow as I thought it will, hence the hype over fiddling around with better trainers...especially now that I got a hang of how flexible the economic module is - still to experience that salary cap thingy, which will probably reveal the whole extend of the financial module in the game). Surprisingly (I reckon it's the first game in which that happens), not that thrilled about the market bit. But I guess with a couple of more meaningful trades, that will pick up as well (still confused about how a good player looks like). I do like the matches (I guess because I am winning and my guys get their double-doubles...and in few occasions I do find myself watching the match live and going mental in waiting for one of my lads to get their triple-double...and my Lord...I am not a bit less enthusiastic about playing bots...I actually like it, seeing the stats stack - I like my numbers, what can I say) and I do like the fact that the matches happen so often (especially the official ones - couldn't care less about the friendly league thing...might in the future when I will find a purpose for it as for now, tactics don't really spawn my interest...it will probably be the last thing that will fascinate me).

Other than that, really liked the draft system, even though I got frustrated for not being able to improve my players efficiently. But it will definitely be something that I will really like in the future.

Hope the hype carries on

oh yeah, one question

is there value in hiring internally? and how to the trainers/staff's salaries fluctuate? Do they reset at the start of every season?
and is there a list with like optimal salary values for each level?

Hiring staff internally is overpriced and I believe nobody does that. The salaries grow every week (there is a coefficient - higher levels staff grow their salary faster) when the staff is employed. When they are fired, they go to the market. If they're not bought again with their actual salary, the salary lowers and the staff goes to the market again. There is a buzzer-manager.com tool where you can calculate the long term cost of your actual staff vs the new staff you want to buy.

gotcha!
I was asking as I saw people bidding more for staff members than it would have cost to hire internally...which just made me wonder
some of the prices for coaches that I saw were ridiculous. It makes me think that I will never afford anything more than a "superior"
