DIVISION III.4

Does any Canadian team really know the pain of Venomizer?
Knocked out in the semifinals last season, it ended a run of 6 consecutive seasons under 3 team names in which manager VenomX lost in the league finals and watched the celebration of another promoting opponent.
Will this finally be the year?

Today, they would have to be the favourite.
Led by C Lii Zongwei, they currently have the best balanced attack in the league.

Unfortunately for Venomizer, with the promotion of the Van Cougars, the relegated Silver Palominos have dropped right down into their spot in the Big 8 and will be a problem with another strong 5 man unit and a big Center to match Zongwei in Refael Galili.
Crazy Palomino fact - The relegation ended a run in the same League II since season 2, they even played in that league final for a chance at Naismith a few short seasons ago!

For now, the league's other best team seems to have the other conference all to themselves.
Keep an eye on the Crazy Bongos, not only a finalist last season and with the league's best starting big men in Gumersind Claramunt and Alfredo Luiz Amorim but with the sale of 22 year old up and coming Canadian C Thomas Harte, the Bongs have some money to spend.

FYI: I was actually in Naismith for a season (Season 4) and then was in Div. II up until this season.

Ran into trouble last season - took a couple of chances and it got me relegated.

This season my goal is to just train my young players, then pop back up next season and challenge for Naismith again within a season or two. Without trying to be too arrogant, I don't foresee any issues promoting this year, when my only losses were with backups in the lineup. In fact, this week's loss was a 3-point loss with an entire backup lineup, most in training positions, on TIE, while resting my starting squad for the Cup game.

Still, Venomizer will be a challenge - the only team that will come close to me this year, IMO :)

III 16 season looks like it could become real tight soon. i still think i am the favourite but anything can happen, if i win my next game i'll pretty much have home court wrapped up and i really need it, i just over paid for a canadian pf who was probably worth half as much non canadian but i like to keep my all canadian team intacted. really hoping to promote because i have lots of scouting points banked waiting to get a very good prospect when i get last place in DII.

Understanding that gameshape is important is the first step. You'll simply never get out of D3 if you continue to play your players into the ground like you are right now. You're basically turning your $40000 salary players into $10000 salary players.

Well I haven't shown this thread much tender lovin care like last season and I apologize for that. To be quite honest I haven't done too much on the forum side of things ALL season and I'm sorry again. I'll probably still get end of season awards for this thread done after the playoffs.

League III.8 Conference Finals

With the conference finals nearing tommorow, there are lots to be said about the dynamics of League III.8. In the Great 8, there have been 4 powerhouses all season long and the 4th seed in the Great 8 has a better record than the 1st seed in the Big 8. In the Great 8, heavy favourites to win the division, Green Machines defeated Kahraba in a hard-fought game with elbows and fouls. The Machines' adversary in the conference finals will be I Wor Kuen, who defeated Tigercats Basketball (who should be heavily considered as the winner of One and Done.) Run-and-Gun I Wor Kuen is not an active team and rarely checks anymore but still proves a heavy threat against the Look Inside Green Machines setting up an epic battle in the conference finals.

In the other conference, the Toronto Assassins clinched 1st place with a run in the end of the season narrowly fending off Jhak Telecom and the underdog Rouge et Or who finished the season on a 8-0 run going from 5th to 3rd. Meanwhile, the rebuilding Toronto Raptors 9 on the other end of the spectrum finished the season 4-4 but just got in front of the Maulers for 4th place. The Toronto Assassins demolished the Toronto Raptors lead by All-time Great Center Parcemon Vasquez and his sidekick PF Rico Cyr. With that they advanced to the Conference finals..but who would join this team?
Jhak Telecom and Rouge et Or met and in a close-fought game Jhak Telecom took a small lead at halftime, but Rouge et Or stormed back led by Beniamin Soblobak, Matija Dogovic, and the 35 year old chugging along Rodrigo Brenta who finished with 33 pts to take the game. This sets up a game between Toronto Assassins and Rouge et Or. Although the Assassins are favourites, the underdogs could give them a run for their money with their balanced gameplay. Whatever happens however, each team will have to guard the other team's centers. Beniamin Soblobak vs Parcemon Vasquez is the key matchup.

Conference Finals: Toronto Assassins vs Rouge et Or
Green Machines vs I Wor Kuen

In a league with great rookies coming fresh from Division IV: Tigercats Basketball, Rouge et Or, and Toronto Raptors 9, this division could generate a lot of interest in the future and could become very strong. That's it from Division III.8.

Oh yeah my predictions? Rouge et Or facing Green Machines in the Finals with Green Machines promoting...but anything could happen.
