but demers didnt play either =P

there is a conflict of interest but im going to say that fairchild is on the team, with all intentions, done purposely
i've said this blatantly over and over again, if i am to manage the NT, my player(s) is going on the team

controversy stirs conversation =)
my next call up shall stir more controversy lol

I say call up David Hardy...

In all seriousness, I understand both sides of this debate. However I wonder if this will have a negative impact on you if you look to get re-elected? Or do you not plan on trying to manage the team beyond this season?

Just win games and people will care less and less about this type of stuff. Sadly our NT ranking has dropped big time, in my hayday I had us in the top 10 rankings :)

That's not cool, especially since there are several players far more deserving of that spot.

If he's never going to be good enough to crack the lineup, what's the point?

'I AM the franchise.'
'Not anymore you're not'
This was the argument between Kev Fairchild and an Ottawa native at a pub.
Kev Fairchild's National Team job has being put into jeopardy after a few Canadians alleged that he is only on the team to get merchandise for the World Alliance.
Most Canadians have suggested the call-up of David Hardy rather than keeping Kev Fairchild on the team.
Coach Zmtomako has promised to give a tryout of Kev Fairchild to the Canadian populace(post his skills). He also said this is a method to see how many people follow the National Team.
We don't know how this will hurt Zmtomako's reelection aspiration since he has being getting wins but the question asked by the majority of coaches in the gamechat was, 'When will the great RiP return?'

but demers didnt play either =P

Was that because Jutras had a higher GS sub? In sure wins, you should play Demers over Jutras just so I can get the merch money. *wink*

edit: quote fail

for those who's argument is that fairchild didnt play
- its a 12 man rotation, not everyone will play

for those that think fairchild is wasting a slot that could be used for another prospect on the bubble
- lets see... no1 is really going to take the jobs from williams/germain, stronks/kearns, EAK/maja, jutras/demers/richards/moran anytime soon... i have doubts new call ups can replace any of the aforementioned until maybe mid-next season
... whoever i include will result in being positions on the rotation deeper than the top 10
- there are a few on the bubble for G and PF/C, but not everyone can be easily slotted in as SF, hence #12 went to fairchild

there are better SF players
- you have to keep in mind that i dislike balanced SFs like abbott or lacroix builds; hence why those are not on the team

you did not consult with the rest of canada and still havent posted his skills up
- well... what can i say =P

The Kev Fairchild controversy still lingers as Canada prepare to take on Saudi Arabia on the 4th of this month.
There is good news and bad news. The good news is that the game is in Canada, so we have home court advantage or like some of my chat friends call it home booze advantage. The bad news: Canada has dipped from the 27th ranked National Team in the world to the 33rd. How did this happen you ask? I don't know. Canada demolished Lebanon and Switzerland so don't look at me. I'm as bamboozled as you are.
As always, we caught a Canadian NT Player in the locker room, Essa-Abu Kaleel, we asked him about the dip in the rankings for Canada and he replied, 'It's unfortunate since we did well against the previous two teams we played against. The team that will feel the wrath emanating from this dip will be Saudi Arabia.'
