I'd guess there are a variety of factors that go into the rankings not unlike these:

-win % last 5 yrs
-% of seasons making the playoffs
-% of last 10 seasons making the playoffs
-number of consecutive seasons making it to at least round 4 in the cup
- win % since inception
- # of seasons since last demotion (if ever)
- average cup performance (in terms of average round advanced to)
-number of consecutive seasons without a losing record
- number of consecutive seasons without having to play in a relegation series
-% of seasons with a winning record
etc. etc.

Look at you, already scouting your opponents for next season! ;)

I don't know how far back the ranking stuff goes, but I also know that playoff wins seem to factor into it heavily. That, and of course I think that the ranking algorithm picks a "companion team" that you're fairly similar to and ensures that you're always at least one spot behind them, at least in my experience. ;)

Yes, I suppose playoff wins would be important too.

I wasn't really scouting and I'm far from sure of advancing, but it sure is nice to see the NBBA at its weakest in years. I often check in to see how recent League II.4 promotees are doing and was surprised to see Technical Fouls off to such a fine start (and it easily could've been 5-0). 10" Vert is always really good and I imagine AZ Desert Storm has a plan.

Currently, I'm scouting you

Yeah, lathrop doing well is not surprising at all, except maybe I suppose to the "2-3 is completely broken" crowd on the global forum given how frequently he's run it.

As far as scouting goes, all I can disclose at this time is that we've held a meeting of the team's fan club and let them know they were idiots for making your team our rival. We're currently research the effectiveness of a 4-6 zone and four corner offense in practice recently, so if we can come to arrangements with the officiating crew, maybe we can squeak out a 13-8 win.

Oh sugar really? I just did a random bid last night, thinking he'd go for more.... Now I'm really in a pickle. I guess I just got bored!

EDIT: Sh*t, i really did mess up. It's going to cost me all my profit from this season so far!
