Took my kids yo NYC for the long weekend (I don't get it off, but the schools in DC do). So you get a shorter than usual recap: the Big 8 trounces the Great 8 one more time, with only my team and Dominate grabbing wins.

Shootout of the day: Hoosier @ Blacksheep. Blacksheep manages to be (a) double guessed (b) nonetheless go on to hit .713 from 3 on neutral offense and (c) nonetheless lose.

Monster shot blocker babe Kenneth Brown goes down for a quick injury.

Bonilla's lead as top scorer gets slimmer.

Well let's evaluate my prediction.

Big 8

Sargent (backed by Pappalardo). ==> Actually: Pappalardo backed by Jiabang
Poch ==> Actually: Sargent backed by Pock
Gattoni (Chavez) => actually: Chavez backed by Buffington
See Long ==> actually: Barroso backed by See Long
Kolesnik ==> actually: Kolesni backed by Renenyik

Decent showing for my predictions in the big 8. I had Sargent at PG and guessed a bunch of backups.

Great 8

Bonilla ==> Actually Skopek backed by Bonilla
Jansen ==> Jansen baby! He had his team solicit the voters.
Sebidos ==> Sebidos indeed
Quanfu ==> I was hoping to get one AS, but all I got was a backup. Avarell Jones starts.
Pruett ==> Pruett indeed, backed by the guy I just sold (so I won't benefit from his merch bonus )

This was a pretty good prediction.

Bummed I did not get 1 starter in. And man, Motorcity gets two! Offensive stats will always beat contribution to team success in this all star voting model.

Yeah stats rule the day when it comes to all stars. Shocked I got the representation I did. My team is a little more defensive oriented than most. Not a lot of stats to go around and my starters don’t play real heavy minutes.

I think the key is that you are dominating the league. In general, the rule is big scorers/rebounders, but IF there is a dominating team then that takes priority. As the results here show 13-0 is enough for dominating, but my 11-2 is not.

I just realized also that my guy Grodowski came in third behind the guy I just sold, so he might actually get the backup C spot, which will be nice for merch.

Actually, I was wrong. Even though Efdal did leave my team this past weekend, he did play in the all star game. Oh well it's not like it's actually meant to make sense!

Very interesting match-day. I had this day circled as an important moment in my season: I needed the PD in my loss to JCW to be less than the PD in Dominate's loss to Cassville's monster D. Mission accomplished, I guess. I even normally to keep things tight.

Quick summary of the main games: Ashkickers double guesses and crushes Blacksheep. Big win for Motorcity: in one of the Great 8's only two wins, they get an edge Bulldogs 114-110. For motorcity standards this is kind of a low-scoring game even. Most importantly this solidifies their position in the playoffs: they will probably finish third as Doctors collapses. Scrap Heap keeps pace with the rest of the Big 8 playoff teams.

insane stat of the week: the previous two seasons, I had the top defense with respectively 80.9 and 82 PPG yielded. This season, after a GE change which led to an increase in scoring, Cassville has given up 58 PPG. It will rise a little as they face their conference (instead of the Great 8). But it still going to be close to the ceiling that you can hit defensively.

Find someone who loves you like this Motorcity teams loves shootouts. For one more time this season, the bombing Michiganders (I assume?) found themselves in a 250+ points game --- led by their fearless leader Bonilla. Alas, they gave up 154 points and JCW got the win.

Between the TIE and a line-up optimized for training I risked a bit more than I wanted against the Hoosiers. The outcome was that Dominate, who had an impressive blow out of Scrap Heap, cut into much of my PD lead. (Dominate is also selling many of its top performers, I assume in an effort to renew the team and refocus on a younger roster.)

It's not gonna be for long but the zombified Doctors team still hovers in the playoff zone. I'm curious to see which Big 8 team will draw them in the playoff. Unfortunately Blacksheep is also about to go bot.

Two O's had a tough home-away schedule in the interconfertnce round, but could potentially secure 5th place by beating Blacksheep, Miami Heat, and Doctors --- all easy wins.

Good luck to all the remaining BBM contenders today and looking forward to Sunday's Cassville - JCW extravaganza!

Upset win in the BBM. We are a 12 seed in our bracket and pulled out a 12 point win despite our SF getting hurt. 30K payout for the win. Feels like it should be worth more, but I'll take it.
