2)I cannot register for the offsite forum because of some previous affairs

Care to explain?? We all know 'that you did not have sexual relations with that lady', so please fill us in. (Hope you are as old as me or the joke fails) :)

Do you see this as a problem for you? The off site forum is a way to communicate with other Canadian users and not have the info taken by other NT's. So not being able to use it may be a really big issue.

Ill PM it to you and u can post it lol i dont know how to word it for the forums

What would you say is your biggest advantage over each candidate?

Experience. Period!

I have proven that I can win at every level, and developed players that qualify for the NT or U21 team. These things are a collection of a lot of time spent reading the forums, listening to others, mentoring, and breaking down ratings. My other advantage would be the relationships I have developed with the Canadian community. Having the ability to call on other experienced members of the community is a huge benefit and something that if need I will have a tremendous amount of success with.

ugh... I am not sure if I should do this but I've suspected this since you first started posting on the public forums and I think I have enough circumstantial evidence to just come out and ask it:
Did you previously post under the name "shootingguardmagic?"

If the answer is yes then I would just like to remind everyone of two things:
1) Shootingguardmagic ran in the last u21 elections and offered to put Beanerz's "best player" on the team if Beanerz would drop out of the running and vote for shootingguardmagic.

2) Shootingguardmagic contacted other national team coaches offering to "spy" on the team by sending them our player's skills and our tactical information posted on the offsite forum. Here's my original post on the matter:

It's really unfortunate that my first act as NT manager is to have to make this post, but I think it's important that this is dealt with publicly and clearly as soon as possible.

I recently received a message from Wozz, the American NT coach, who informed me that on July 3rd he received the following message:

From:
Shootingguardmagic
Subject:
want me to spy?
Sent:
7/3/2010 11:56:21 AM

want me to spy on the canadian NT in the offsite forum? i can give u player stats etc..

Wozz is a stand up manager and declined the offer and messaged me about it. After consulting the outgoing Canadian manager and moderator of the offsite forum (Rip) and the u21 coach (Mogul) it was decided to ban shootingguardmagic from the offsite forum. We have no ability to level punishments on him in the game itself.

This is really, really unfortunate. It's always a risk that certain people may sign up for the offsite forum for immature reasons and undermine other people's hardwork and this appears to be such a case. There is the risk that posting skills and tactical information will result in info being leaked out but for now I plan on continue to post so that there can be community participation and so that other managers can share ideas and learn from each other. Unfortunately behavior like shootingguardmagic's endanger this sort of interaction and I think the community should be made aware of his bizarre decisions. So I am just requesting that people be honest and fair going forward and try to keep the info on the offsite forum underwraps.

Personally, I will not be offering him any advice, sharing ideas with him, listening to his "suggestions" or considering any of his players for any level of NT service and it would not be out of line for other managers to respond in a similar way. (of course it is unlikely that any of his players will come within striking distance of the u21 or NT any time soon)

Chris

Needless to say, if "Future NBA Hall of famer" is also "shootingguardmagic" it would be pretty questionable to elect him to the position of national team manager. If they are not the same person then I apologize for the confusion.

It just occured to me that I have not been in the debate much recently. And there were probably some questions that I missed in the thread... If so, that's exactly the level of engagement you can expect from me as NT manager.

I have a question about the new box and one and outside isolation tactics. Have any of you formed opinions about them yet? What situation would you use them in? Unfortunately, I did not get to play many scrimmages this season so I have yet to form an opinion on the tactics.

But I think, judging from what I have seen so far, that any team that I manage is going to play these tactics almost exclusively. And when I don't, I will likely play full court press on defense and low post on offense (of course combined with a SG at centre. everyone knows that the real way to win games in BB is to play a SG at centre, especially one with atrocious rebounding).

PS Yeah, you guessed it, I am now officially withdrawing my name from the race. It was fun but since there are now two serious candidates, I will let them duke it out.

You have obviously done your home work Chris. It appears to me that this is pretty cut and dry and in fact it is something that I wondered about in the past, your summary confirms it.

I anxiously await 'future NBA Hall of famers' response as it could be all kinds of fun. :)

I am still really curious about this. Even with the pending suspicion about your history, I think the community deserves an answer. The moderators on the off-site forum would not ban someone for no reason, so an explanation is required.

For the record I have not recieved a PM with an answer...

I am sure you already know but posting PM's in the forums is sometimes questionable. But in this case it may be protecting the Canadian community so it should remain open.

Again thanks for taking the time to sniff out the 'wet dog'.

Cheers

Looks like it is just you and I now Griffin... Oh and that other guy 'Future NBA Hall of famer'.

I have a question to ask the both of you. What is the ideal build of a 'realistic' NT power forward? Also what skills do you consider to be over rated and under rated?

Cheers

realistic power forward?
In numbers:

JS 13 Jr 6
OD 7 HN 7
DR 9 PA 10
IS 15 ID 17
RB 15

of course you can have more skills, but ratio would be like that. I really like balanced players, almost an SF
