I'd add to this another auction related issue I have.

Managers should not be allowed to increase their own bid on a player. Everyone has seen this before. A player is on the market for a small price. Next thing you know one manager ups the bid from $10,000 to $250,000 to $1,000,000 in less than 30 seconds.

A new rule should be put in place that once you've placed a bid on a player, you cannot submit another until someone else bids on the player.

It is also an easy way to inflate bids for illegally dumping money to a friend and should be banned. If you can't be on when the bid is up, too bad.

"This is a management simulation game not a fantasy sports game. Trades make sense in fantasy sports but not in simulation games like this.

Bottom line, if you want trades play fantasy basketball."

Two of you're most recent posts. We should be encouraging new players, not pushing them away. The way the bidding system is set up now does not bode well for the casual player, and while you might have the luxury of being on 24/7 to bid on the player you want, doesn't mean that everyone else does.

Also, if you're going to send another message to someone about how if they don't like something about this game, then they should leave. Please don't send it, again we want people to keep playing.

I'm sorry thst you disagree with my posts. However that does not make what I said incorrect.

I happen to play both this kind of game and fantasy sports. Both have there appeal but they are two different types of games. Let's not mix the two otherwise what's the point of either.

Second, I was pointing out that the current bidding system has a built in flaw that could easily be exploited by potential cheaters. I hope they fix it.

I don't see anything against the logic to bid against yourself in BuzzerBeater because:
- in the end the highest bidder always buy the player
- you may put wrong amount by mistake
- you may want to guarantee to buy that specific player/staff
- it's fairer for everyone, otherwise people who are spending much more time on the website will have unnecessary advantage
- you may didn't had enough money to bid what you wanted to bid but suddenly you got extra cash (by selling another player for example)

I think the pros of the current bidding systems are much more than the pros for a bidding system you are suggesting.

You make a valid alternative argument. However, my opinion is the current system of being allowed to increase your own bid is loaded with potential for cheating and should be changed so you cannot increase your own bid.

I play four sports management games like this and Buzzerbeater is the only one that allows this practice.

Years of being a GM and I still fail to see how it really helps cheating to be able to bid two times in a row.

Is there an automatic cap of the bid like if the current price is 30 000 and you try to bid 40 000 but instead of 40 000 you put 400 000 (one extra 0). Is the system going to prevent that or it will allow you to bid 400 000 ?

Because if there's such prevention (which btw is a nice thing to have) then the possibility to outbid yourself is a MUST. Let's say a player starting price is 1 000, but his real cost is 100 000. You want to bid for example 50 000 directly, you will have to make at least 2 bids: one at 10 000 for ex. and another one at 50 000.
