Marin has 2 fundamental limitations:
1. He clearly has issues programming even fairly simple things. It took him ages and an enormous amount of feedback to get even the blank removal right. Now for some reason the fan survey is completely messed up because of something he did and he keeps fiddling with it. I get that he does not have a proper test platform, but this performance is shambolic. Get the goddamn source code on your system and run your tests there!
I'm not trying to diss Marin for being a bad programmer, but clearly he hasn't been very efficient in amending parts of the game. I have this gut feeling that the astrophysicist, or whatever he was, who originally wrote the code really sucked at coding and that makes it harder for people change it. After all the sheer number of lines of code for the GE that are on record (tens of thousands) cannot be considered a clean job either in this or any parallel universe (since we're talking about astrophysicists...)
2. He clearly has issues listening to the userbase and refuses to listen to reasoned arguments even after his argumentations have been completely rebuffed. After years of real life evidence that he did get it wrong, as many explained to him before he even implemented the changes, he may go back on his decisions. So presumably around season 47 we might have a change in the way the boycott is implemented. And maybe we will have someone able to code it properly too in the staff. We always hope.

We've been asking them to get him help for ages. It made sense ages ago, now it might be too late, but it is anyway encouraging that they are doing something about it. Hopefully the website design is revamped and it's more stylish and easy too see on modern browsers and especially on phones.

So the day they asked for help (as many, me included, told them MANY times) finally happened. I personally am very happy about it and I feel that if they get the right person/people, they can make this game a lot more appealing.

I'm ambivalent about the whole thing. There are three possibilities: Marin finds someone who can work a miracle and we have a vastly improved game; Marin finds someone who isn't competent and we continue as we are; or Marin turns round and says there were no suitable applicants.

I don't really expect good decisions to be made around here.

To everyone, I apologise for the negativity, but I can't help how I feel.

As i have said before, game obviously have problems with coding and mess in it made over seasons with all those bad decisions (changes).
This game cant attract many new users this type of game is old fashioned and too messy, shady, difficult for newbies. Game admins should take care of us too, senior players, who keep this game alive, without senior managers game will be done!

Solutions - tidy the code up, erase stupidity like that fee, other fee, let managers play the way they want! TRAINING is problem of the whole game. It is training what force you to tank over and over even in big or in small way! You have teams build up for cycles and you are forced to renew from time to time. Let player train what he wants! (3 players could train 3 different skills)

Another benefit of this would be players with different skillsets, so no dominance of one tactic anymore!

Diversity in players skillsets means more ways to succeed, more fun, every manager could find his fun in this game! Diversity is the key to not be vulnerable against one problem. Stop telling us how to play the game!

Simplyfying training is the key and solution for most "troubles" game has and therefore more fees could be erased and the game could be well understood by newbies too what will not scary them and keep them around.

Unfortunately this will never happen, BBs cant understand this logic, instead they keep implementing new fees and telling us what is good and what should we do.

I played for about 15 seasons years ago and just recently came back to the game after an almost 4 year break

To my surprise, the game has hardly changed!

The concept and logic of MOST parts of the game is great, but unfortunately the UI and pace of everything is too poor and not up to 2017 standards.
Lack of an app and the horrendous looking home page is enough of a turnoff for new players I believe.

Heck I would love the game to succeed (or if not, build my own lol), but at the same time, a gazillion suggestions over the years from users to the BB team seems mostly unheard and they are content with status quo.

There is still a strong enough community within the game to help BB, but the support I feel will continue to shrink... UI fix, mobile platform and app is a must in this day and age
Can we get a pipeline or vision for game development from the BBs?

WOW! Guys this is sadly depressing....I been playing BB since season 26. Built up nice size arena, trainees are starting to cap and now have a pretty solid team. Maybe a season or so from finally advancing to div 3. I have a decent utopia team. THIS....is my serenity at times, to break the time up here and there. After reading many of your comments.....it makes me ask. WHAT OTHER ONLINE BASKETBALL GAME IS GOING that is compared to BB???
The main thing I like to see is more favorable training options.
More offense and defense tactics....or an option to customize your own offense and defense.

Don't listen to the debbie downer's!!! This game is gonna stay as there are many different options other than Adobe flash to play the game on I can imagine.

Yeah....your right. I don't care about the Adobe flash. My only thing I like to see different was a way to customize your offense and defense tactics. That was something I recommended some time ago....and an easier way to train certain trainees. But I get it....its about challenge my teams. I have my USA team and my utopia team. I JUST really got into training properly a few seasons ago...got 2 near capped bigs for my usa team plus a few outside older guys and I'll be training outside trainees next season..
My utopia team...I have a combo guard thats close to capping and next couple seasons will be training bigs or small forwards.
I dig the game....it takes away the stress of some of my days. I just hate to hear people from all over predict the end is near.
