Oh wow, what a big move acquiring a 150k Canadian Post at the age of 31 to pair with Falconer. I think you're the only team in our league to have two 100+K players, so it's going to be a tough game vs you next week.

Yes I'm very excited to acquire Sutter! I've been waiting for a big time post to pair with Falconer for about a year now and finally this week is the week I do so! I'm excited to see what my team can do with Sutter on the court. This season my team has been lacking in the rebounding department and Sutter will give more help defensively vs Inside oriented teams and carve up those boards.

I'm definitely glad for you, he will play a huge role for you on the inside. However, I have noticed how the game is changing. I think well rounded or outside orientated bigs may be getting more useful than inside orientated bigs which cost a whole lot of salary per week. Similar to NBA, bigs now have to be able to defend the perimeter, hit open outside shots and be able to handle and pass the ball.

I tried moving Diram from his SF position to a small ball C and the results has been splendid. He now stands at the top of scoring and pops so many threes at the C spot that it's a nightmare to defend. I had an amazing rebounder and scorer last season but his outside D gave me so many problems on the other end.

Anyways, a dominant post is an advantage for an inside game, but keep an eye out on outside orientated posts.

Playing a more outside offense oriented player at Centre with Patient is not a new tactic, and can often give you an advantage over stronger teams. This is pretty a well known strategy to tenured managers. The only reason it is somewhat successful is because most managers play centres that have little outside defense and the Patient technique takes advantage of that. In the long run, a centre with high inside skills will beat it and be more successful.

What I'd be concerned with is depth, Chris. Not sure a team with 2x 100k+ players and ~20k players filling out the rest of the roster will be that successful. Good luck though.

Haha yep, I know it's not a new tactic, I've first witnessed it vs me. Anyways, I have always wondered about the complete opposite with low post with a guard that has extremely high inside shot or a post at the guard spot with the possible idea of playing big. However, I have always refrained from that idea as I think starting 3-4 post players could be disastrous and costly

I suppose that's true with the depth statement, but there are some good players that are 20k or less. Personally, I got a 12k type SG that I'm leaning over a 35k SG, so it depends on fit with the team and strategy.

I'm a fan of the patient offense too. I don't know if it's been tested in the big leagues yet, but I think the inverted patient (where you have a guard play PF/C) can wreak havoc if you have the right players. If you have a guard with high IS, you should be playing LI (which has been the standard build for a couple dozen seasons); Low post will give more shots to your front court even if there's a high IS player with a mismatch in the back court.

Yeah, that's true. Slow paces really does focus on the mismatch, but in a way, I suppose the isolation offences are just a worst version of patient/low post/princeton? One focuses on the mismatch, whereas isolation focuses on the best inside or outside player available. Isolation seems kind of bad, especially if the best player is matched VS an elite defender, but at the same time, I heard from managers that isolation seems to have good ball movement. Still, it's something for me to keep an eye and try out here and there.

Anyways, Im looking forward to our game tomorrow. Luo is definitely going to a tough guy to guard with his scoring and efficiency
