Why do you play this game if you think it has so many problems? Most of us enjoy the game the way it is right now.

The NBA arguments are kinda pointless.

Why do we need to try emulate the NBA? This game was designed to be a Basketball Simulator not a NBA simulator. If you want to simulate the NBA, go find 30 people and play 2k12 and set up a league on that game where it follows every single rule that exists in NBA.

Sometimes, we need to take a step back and realise this is a game and not real life. For the purposes of a game, you can not emulate real life as it will add a huge level of complexity that will need lawyers to draft and understand. So why do we care if the NBA rookies are signed to guaranteed contracts or not?

Its totally irrelevant to what we should do here.

Yeah thats right we can't make it look perfect like real life, but we can try!

Draftees contracts in the NBA are not negotiable, BUT they don't have to be signed. Even in the first round.

If a team drafts a player in the first round, then grabs a big name free-agent and realize they have no more cap-space, they can simply decide not to sign the rookie's contract. At this point, he cannot play for the team (or any other NBA team since that team has his draft rights) so he can only play overseas.

no in this case pini is right, first round pick have guarantees contract, but they don't had to be paid by the team who drafted him. A lot of the draft end up in other roster through past or current trades. if i counted it right 12 of 30 player got traded in the last year draft before or during the draft, and at least one isn't eligible this year through a previous contract. Quite sure that this number increase till the rookie contract run out.

Oh come on Crazy, not you now. We´ve settled that before.

He is completely right. First round draft picks are guaranteed contracts BUT you don´t HAVE to sign ANYONE. If you don´t sign him, the player counts against the cap, but there is NO money transfer at all. You don´t have to pay. Period.

OK, great - so we will define it differently;

A player has a gurantee contract (higher on higher leagues);
He can be fired or hired, but CANNOT be sold.

An outercome of firing a draft player is that other draft players will want more to secure their contract, meaning that on folllowing seasons draft players will ask for more salary.

they can be traded, which is the nba equivalent of selling right?And at least at the draft night tey sometimes sell then right before they pick, which means selling them for me.

He was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 25th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies traded his rights to the Dallas Mavericks for cash considerations, reported to be around $3 million.

i believe that is the definition of selling a drafted player ;)

On this game there is not a single division, but multiple ones.
On this game there is no salary cap.

So, this is the adjustmet needed for this game.
Although I prefer the salary cap, for solving the competitiveness problem proven.

yeah reality isn't always the best for the game, but i though you wanted it here like the reality and used as a argument to change it in that direction.

So, this is the adjustmet needed for this game.

i think we are opposite opion about that.

don't know how you come to this now, but this would lead to many other problems.
