for those who's argument is that fairchild didnt play
- its a 12 man rotation, not everyone will play

for those that think fairchild is wasting a slot that could be used for another prospect on the bubble
- lets see... no1 is really going to take the jobs from williams/germain, stronks/kearns, EAK/maja, jutras/demers/richards/moran anytime soon... i have doubts new call ups can replace any of the aforementioned until maybe mid-next season
... whoever i include will result in being positions on the rotation deeper than the top 10
- there are a few on the bubble for G and PF/C, but not everyone can be easily slotted in as SF, hence #12 went to fairchild

there are better SF players
- you have to keep in mind that i dislike balanced SFs like abbott or lacroix builds; hence why those are not on the team

you did not consult with the rest of canada and still havent posted his skills up
- well... what can i say =P

The Kev Fairchild controversy still lingers as Canada prepare to take on Saudi Arabia on the 4th of this month.
There is good news and bad news. The good news is that the game is in Canada, so we have home court advantage or like some of my chat friends call it home booze advantage. The bad news: Canada has dipped from the 27th ranked National Team in the world to the 33rd. How did this happen you ask? I don't know. Canada demolished Lebanon and Switzerland so don't look at me. I'm as bamboozled as you are.
As always, we caught a Canadian NT Player in the locker room, Essa-Abu Kaleel, we asked him about the dip in the rankings for Canada and he replied, 'It's unfortunate since we did well against the previous two teams we played against. The team that will feel the wrath emanating from this dip will be Saudi Arabia.'

We practically barged in zmtomako's office this morning. He was rather lenient after we did this, considering last time someone tried doing that to Greerzilla, he got kicked out of the office.
I don't really like naming names, especially on a widely circulated newspaper such as this one but it was Jim. Greerzilla had about 5 security guards take him out of the building. Imagine the horror of five 175 pound guards dragging a 300 pounder through the ground. I will admit, i peed my pants a little after it happened, I was laughing so hard. Wait this is getting publicized? I hope the editor edits out this part but then again he's my archrival. Why do I give out these damaging details in my report?
Anyway... we asked zmtomako about the plan for the Canadian National Team in his tenure and he replied, 'It's a simple strategy. The basics of the plan is to keep winning. Try and push for home court advantage(home booze advantage, my friends call it) for next season's Americas Championships. I'm working with teams with the next generation of prospects to build on the current training plans and just keep them in the loop so training doesn't drop off.'
He continued, 'Other than that, I'm just trying to maintain the program at this point before a permanent coach is voted in next season, either it be me or not.'
Zmtomako has spoken again and you saw it on David's Doses first.
Why is Jim staring at me? He looks angry. He's walking towards me with a newspaper in his hand. Looks like he read my last article. Uh-Oh. Not good.

Just a quick update. I'll be posting the Canadian NT Players Stats(Points, rebounds and assists) when the seeding game against Saudi Arabia is finished. Thank you.

Living in Canada these days is extremely boring, especially when you are a fan of the Canadian Basketball National Team. The only thing fans are bored of seeing are blowout wins even when Canada isn't trying.
A packed Freakys Center saw 20,110 people come out to witness Canada against Saudi Arabia. The fans expected a free-flowing, close back and forth basketball game and they were disappointed. The game ended 112-76 in Canada's favor. A 36 point win.
The signs started showing in the first quarter as Canada jumped out to a quick lead. The same thing continued for the next three quarters as Canada outscored their Saudi Arabian opponents in every quarter of the game.
It was just too easy. Saudi Arabia was outrebounded, outassisted, outstolen, outblocked and most importantly outscored. Canada decided to go with a Look Inside strategy which was an easy choice considering the dominance of Maja and Essa-Abu Kaleel amongst other explosive forwards and centers. They were repayed with ratings of sensational inside scoring, tremendous perimeter defense, prominent offensive flow and prominent inside defense.
A controversial choice was made however by Coach Zmtomako, he chose to sit down Small Forward, Christopher Moran for the whole game. Why did this happen? Our best guess would be because Canada has an abundance of centers and he wants to give a few valuable playing time. No one knows for sure but we hope Zmtomako explains his reasoning but does it really matter? All that matters is that Canada picked up the win and will have a good seed for the National Tournament.
Canada's statistical leaders for the game were: Tommy Germain with 25 points, Momar Maja with 8 rebounds and Tommy Germain with 6 assists.
It's a good feeling when you're winning and we hope Canada takes this momentum into the National Tournament.
