You can see how much blocks he recorded. The improvements are not much visible in the game, and likely there aren't significant differences that can justify such a big salary gap.

Just because he didn't block a shot, doesn't mean that the SB on the player didn't have an effect on the opposing player. He could have altered some shots or lowered the percentage of the opposing player's shots, for example.

As for the improvements, they are to me, somewhat visible, and can only increase as more games are played.

Maybe it's time to think about a 11-15-15-15 center instead of a 15-15-15-7 guy.

Until PGs with IS=14 and SGs with IS=16 (both with DR 20, of course) will exist in the game, I don't think they will be stopped by anything less than ID=20 and SB=18. A player with these stats and good RB (at least 17) can't have any offensive skills because he's already at 250k salary. Meanwhile, the PG and SG I mentioned have 250k salary COMBINED with elite offensive and defensive skills, while our defender is nothing more than Serge Ibaka or Kendrick Perkins (we all saw what they did against Memphis...nothing).

I know about that imbalance, but isn't this SB change implemented to counter that? We can all just keep stating that the imbalance is still there, but I think we should start rethinking and revalueing players. This was just in reply to the example that was given. Maybe12/17/17/17 does stop all guards with IS=16 after the SB change. He won't be a low post Center but he can finish putbacks and dunks/layups when assisted, and you can have your PF with high IS to have a go to guy inside. That way you both have inside defense and scoring at a high level. I don't think you need 5 pure scorers on a team to win.

I have no experience at the highest level, but I'm just putting out some thoughts that seem plausible to me.

Well, I cannot say whether the change affects certain matchups more than others, but as we said in previous newsposts there are some areas on the pitch where shot blocking is the most usefull. In these areas shots are altered (or blocked) much more often than others and we increased the value of shot blocking in some of these areas.

Anyways, the effect of the Shot Blocking change shouldn't solely be measured in altered or blocked shots. It may very well be that overall the looks in inside tactics are much worse or that guards are forced to take more shots from the outside. This could all result in inside tactics being less effective, yet these are not clearly observed from boxscores.

I Think that kind of PG an SG are stoped by SB, not ID in the Bigs.
And talking about salary... The same PG and SG mentioned will have the same 250k salary with IS=1.
And for Bigs it's the same, with Passing=16 have the same salary.
We (as BB comunity) HAVE to train balanced players, exploit their potential and stop making full primary Skills that are expensive, not salary/efficiency and no one want them in the market and few teams can afford.

that was my point...the bigger sb on a big, more inclined he is to help blocking driving guards. but if those guards have very high is, nothing but very high sb will stop them...a bit.
do you consider a pg with IS three levels higher than his PA a balanced player?
