I'm here since season 2 and I still like this game
Maybe I'll quite once I'll start to win, it means I've understood the game engine but this date seems really so far :p
No idea about other people, probably this game is "slow" but if you've patience to understad your step to be at least competitive then is a nice game.

I've been here since S18 and I love this game.
I had just finished reading Bill Simmons' Book of Basketball, and was reminded how much I like hoops, and thought how fun it would be to manage an online game. I searched around for one, and first found a college level simulator that was super basic, yet fun. I played that for about a week, and then found Buzzerbeater. I haven't looked for any other online BBall manager games since. This one is a blast. I've recruited let's see... six other managers to join, and thus far four have dropped off: two basically made teams and then never checked them and they went bot, one stayed on for about a season and was very involved until his work schedule went ballistic and he had to drop out, and the other played for about seven seasons and felt he had enjoyed the game very much but didn't have the desire to keep playing. The other two still enjoy it and are in it for the long haul like me.
I've got a franchise player I drafted in my first season who is going to be over 32 in a couple seasons, and I'm bummed that I'll one day have to let him go. I've also got a player from my original roster who is actually still a contributor in DII. I'm proud of the little guy, even though he's fictional.
Reading the message boards, people go a bit ballistic over things, and I hope that those messages don't turn away new users. I know this game isn't perfect, but none ever will be, and accepting the imperfections and working within them is part of what makes this game challenging and fun.
In my very first season (I was plugged into a league about 2/3rd's of the way through S18), I actually wrote a pretty pissed off message about a game I lost that knocked me out contention for 7th place in DIV. I was livid that my team blew a huge lead in the 4th. The responses were quite amazing, as managers from all around the globe reached out to say "sorry, man, that's a tough loss" and also some gave me some key insights to this game that I still use today (for instance, I didn't fully comprehend GS or Enthusiasm at the time). Never mind that I would never have come within 40 points of winning a relegation series game, and that the best thing was for me to demote to DV, but those responses were very positive and helpful, and boosted my morale quite a bit in regard to my team and this game.
Anyhow, I know that's a slight tangent. I hope we do figure out a way to get more managers and active teams. I just don't think having a flame war is the way to do it.
