Height does not affect how your game is played just how fast he will train.

As you train your players their positions will change based upon your training.

Hope that helps

I just find it annoying to have a player listed out of position, pet peeve I guess. Maybe its just a more American way of looking at basketball as we train people for positions by bodytype in the US (talking real Basketball) and the idea of a 6footer and a 7footer matching up in a Real game of bball just cuz they got similar fundamentals (skills) is nuts

maybe you should see it that way, charles Barkley is a popular example of a small player who play near the boards. he still manage a lot of rebounds, but would you say he is a much bettzer rebounder then a bigger guy who get the same amount of boards?
I would say they are the same, but probadly it was harder to get to this level for Charles then his 7 foot opposition - so it is like here.

You also could say that charles "skill" is higher, but through his size he would get the same amount of board then the "weaker" opposition, but this would make it very very hard to compare Players and also would make it complicated to predict the value, because skill and size alone wasn't value the player and you end up with a comparision like it it done here.

Magic, oscarson, Kukoc and even sabonis(before his injury) played where different positions with inproperiet size during their career, and even if the most centers are big and most point guards small their are exceptions. And in generation of new player, size plays a role and big guys get most likely good isnide skill and wek outside skills, but you get also some exceptions especially on low level where they are even in reality more common.

I guess this is a suggestion but it would be REALLY COOL if we could set their position ourself manually while on our team. Like as a supporter feature or something.

I wouldn't like it, because the suggested positions, is in my eyes most important when i scout my opponent because you get a rough feeling for a player when you look at salary and suggested position - and if everybody could change it i expect lots of team order then randomly to confus the opposition.

I totally agree. I would probably just change all the positions to "Point Guard" and that way they have no idea when they scout me :D

You know, the listed position is just a suggestion. You can play any player at any position you want. Heck, my two small forwards are listed in the game as SG and PF. You can ignore the position. Lots of people do.

Actually, when Magic attempted to come back following the few years off due to HIV, he primarily was playing PF. If his career had had a normally progression for his finally years, I think it likely he would have ended up spending the last season or two as a PF.

Hmm. Why does everyone keep repeating this myth?

I know I"m setting myself up for sarcasm and nasty responses from the 'gurus' of the Forums, but 'POSITION' is indicative of a very important aspect of the game. And my opinion is based on the research of others that is freely available to all of you.

So, again, why does everyone keep repeating the myth that position is 'a meaningless suggestion'?

When people say suggested position i think the point is that you don't get penalised for playing someone in a different position then what is suggested. People don't usually say it's a meaningless suggestion as a lot of the time the player ends up playing the suggested position anyway.
