So it's based on salary?

That's one theory. That's not exactly what I would say, though.

So my 74K Superstar PG/SF should have no problem training his inside game?

It depends, has he had training since the season started? If so, you need to get a salary estimator to see an approximation of his current salary.

If he has had no training since the start of the season, I would say he still has lots of room to improve. So you should have no problems with the skill cap. However, age and height might make things slower than you would like.

Arel shouldn't be slowed down by any sort of potential or salary cap for many seasons if you train him as a small forward.

That may be the case, I can't tell Arel's skills. However, it seems to me that Abbott must have capped at around $80K in salary (probably less?). This is considerably lower than the $100K salary cap at the max end for p. allstar. So while I don't think you are saying this, I just want it to be clear that depending on skills, players can cap sooner or later on the salary chart. Some players even cap outside the ranges defined in the forums.

I just decided to stop training him as I didn't feel it was worth it to train him at 26.

My mistake. I thought he was capped since he had no pops this season.
