The actual coach of the South African U21,that I help being a scout for him, trained the starter PG in the Italian U21 team some seasons ago.His Pg had only 7 in potential, but was able to have enough primary skills to be a so important part of the team due to the lack in inside skills that allow him to avoid the cap potential, while other players of his age with the same potential weren't able to grow during the season.
I am not convinced this is because of his rebounding. It could also be that he had a very high sub-level of potential. And yes, for various reasons, I am starting to become a believer in sub-levels on potential. In fact, the more data I gather, the more sure I am of it.
And as you know, salary and potential cap are related,
I really have trouble with that one. I mean, it is certainly a possibility, but I can think of others. Certainly, since both are based on skills it is not surprising that there
seems to be a relation. Whether there is or not is a question that remains to be answered (at least, by my estimation).
