Hide the potential until players are 20!! It will save and create many decent players.

It is so much less than 1/3 that get training. From my league's draft last season I doubt if even 5 of the draftees are geting trained.

I don't like the idea of hiding potential completely, but I do like the idea of widening the margin of error. Then with every season of training the possible potential range becomes smaller and more accurate.

That would be a pretty big change but I'd love to see it explored for feasibility at least.

I have always been in favor of making potential a bit more vague, something to reduce the predictability in player development, whether it’s applied to potential or used as a way to affect potential. This game needs some underachieving head cases who just can’t live up to what everything thinks is their potential, or that underdog who becomes a star when most would have written them off.

I am personally someone who was thought to have announcer potential, but in the end, I’m no better than a lucky fan.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

Why is potential revealed and aggression hidden? Which do you think is easier to scout out?

The better thing to do would be to just remove a couple of the bottom levels of potential. Really the whole potential thing is a bit useless.

announcer = useless
bench warmer = useless
role player = useless
6th man = useless
What is the point in having 4 variations of totally useless and not worth training at all?

starter = bad
star = bad
Same here, these two are really not worth training unless there are special circumstances like a player from Pakistan or a $7,000 7'4" 18 year old or something else unusual.

allstar = acceptable
perennial allstar = good
superstar = great
MVP = perfect

These are the only 4 potentials that really matter.

hall of famer = pointless
all-time great = pointless

99.9% of players with this potential will never reach it and that is despite them having massivly inflated prices on the trade market. And when a player finally does reach this level no-one except national teams actually wants him an he floats around the market being sold for less than a million each time.

So really there are 4 potentials that matter. When I look for a trainee I wouldn't even consider less than all-star and I can't afford a HoF or ATG and I know their potential is irrelevant.

i saw 6th men who was quite useful for a lot of teams, and won't say that all role players ending useless. But for sure is it for stars and starters.

And i believe there are player who using their Potential and quite sure dachsbau would be wekaer as a mvp too.

The irony of you saying how useful 6th men are is that is that of your top players there are 4 x HoF, 1 x MVP, 1 x Superstar and 1 x Allstar*. Not seeing a lot of 6th men, or starters, or stars, or all stars or even pallstars (you do have one pallstar on your bench) making serious contributions to your team.

The majority of people put up with a bad job, a bad girlfriend and a bad life because trying to make everything good is seen as too hard or even impossible. I have a very well paying job that I love, my ex was a lingere model, my current has a PHD, I have been on about 20 overseas trips travelling the world and played sport at NT level. I look to the stars.

So instead I had a look at your roster and guess what? No-one below allstar again with most being superstars. Just a coincidence? I think not. You two are smart managers and that is what smart managers know and do. Training a 6th man is for the birds!
