It is the key. Without it you will spend too much on getting somewhere.

I would if starting again follow this as a plan.

Sell everyone other then your best 2 players at each positions. Maybe even more.

Then maybe look at buying a couple of players who will come in and improve your side from day one.

Then decide if you want to train big men or guards. Big men is easier.
Find 2 18 year old who are decent levels already and have potential of all star plus. Most likely Pren allstar. You don't need more then that now.

And train them up. Start with Def. It is the way to get quick results.

That is it in a nut shell.

well bang for buck, in my opinion.
do 500 bleachers at a time + little bits of courtside and lower tier.. takes 7 days and that means each week you get to benefit from your upgrades.
never do an upgrade that is going to take more than 7-9 days.

Hey guys,

I'm new as well. I reckon it'll be better if we get some friendly banter going. I've had a look at some other forums n they all seem to be pretty active in them.

Maybe it could be a good place to help each other if we think of anything good. Mickyster thanks for the initial help! With the arena I was thinking of just increasing price of tickets instead of buying new seats as that way don't have to pay for it! Do you think this will work?? Or will no one come if I put them up??

Hay

You can put prices up but if you get more income it is limited. By building more seats when you move up thru the leagues you get more and more income. I am in Div III this season and have 15,000 seats and bring in over 200k a week from ticket sales. Even if you just do a little bit here and there. 500 Bleachers is a good start.

How is your squad? You only want 10 guys and need 2 guys to train as either big guys (close to 7") or small guys (close to 6") that are young (18 to 20 max) who have a decent potential. PRem Allstar trained well would give you guys who can follow thru as a backup in ABBL if you make it that far.

If you don't have 2 of them try and guy them. If you want to pm the details of what you have for training I can help with a plan.

Hi Ballan,

At this stage of the season with your team sitting in 7th.
You really have no hope of winning over all and promoting to div 3.
I've just noticed you bought 2 middle ages pointguards. So I'm a little late in giving advice because I would have strongly recommeneded against those purchases.
I'd recommend selling them for a profit if you can, because There's no point you spending more money than you need to.
I'd suggest focus on the draft for this season, save all your money for next season and start then.
The starting money you do have, is it $500k? I'd spend on Scouting (maybe $10k week / 2 points) and your arena. and I would now look to buy a level 4 (advanced) Trainer with as cheap of a salary as possible, like under $15k.

For this season, unfortunately you don't REALLY have any great training prospects, but I would spend the last of the season training Ranko Dosen and Paul Bertram Steiert. probably train Single positon Pressure and try to get some decent Outside Defence going. Then hopefully try to draft a young gun aussie and work towards training an U21 representative.

As for your idea about raising ticket prices.
You're currently in 7th spot in the Big 8 and your team has only won 1 game (albeit before you took over).
Your attendance will be poor until you start winning some games, win your TV games and your Rivalry games, that will help.
Having MORE seats allows you to keep the ticket prices LOW so that people will actually consider it a good price.
Think about it from a human standpoint, My local team sucks this season, they're really not doing too well, If I had nothing else to do I'd probably go along and watch the odd game, but OMG their ticket prices are a bit too high and its not worth going. If they lowered their prices I'd probably be like "eh it's only $8, beats watching TV again I guess"
So in your position (and in Div4 really) you can't raise ticket prices very high anyways as people just wont come along.

In Summation, Mickyster was right, add more seats... bit by bit. I've been told never do an upgrade that will take longer than 7 days at a time, as you could miss out on the extra little bit of revenue by a couple days and have to wait 2 weeks to see a return on investment.

Good luck

OH.... PS.

Manage your game shape and enthusiasm.
Try to make sure your players play BETWEEN 48 and 80 minutes each WEEK. Try to get your starting 5 to PROFICIENT game shape.
AND You should TIE all your games from now on so that you have a chance to maybe win the relegation battle (not that it REALLY matters) but it will help attendance a little next season if you don't lose the relegation battle.

You can save them for the end of next season.
But obviously, the lower you finish on the table, the more likely you are to get your number 1/2/3 preference Draftees.

cheers!

Just to catch up on the season! Who do we all think are going to win this season?? Anyone apart from me just gunna go for a good draft pick??

What about the upcoming inter conference?? Just looking seems to me that the red teams are a little stronger! But only time will tell? Is this a good way to tell the difference between red n blue?? Or is it going to be more about depth!! Anyone been here for a couple seasons?? I'm just wondering how hard it actually is to promote??

Anyone left in the country tournament??

Anyone else got a really crappy team?? Cause mine sucks!! HahA
