Clearly to have a chance you are going to have to beat that team in front of you
If he keeps the line up he has now
that might prove impossible
look at the 2 guards he has up for sale
I'm a league above you guys in 2nd place
and I don't think I could beat him if handled his team right
can't believe he's lost 5 times

You need to monitor his actions and act accordingly at the right time

You can always build your arena when you promote
right now
your middle ticket prices can be jacked
you are selling both out regularly
you have a decent amount of seats for your level

he made a deep cup run
his 2 best are for sale right now

I guess the players need to go because he is out of the cup. Maybe he was breaking even and now makes losses?

@OP
With a budget of 2.75 million, I would definitely reach for promotion. Players are really cheap these days - dont buy before the playoffs, as the prices will go up before the deadline ends. Take your time to scout and scan the market, buy cheap multiskilled players and you will do fine in the playoffs.

I was thinking I buy a dominant SF like:
Jump Shot: stupendous Jump Range: sensational
Outside Def.: marvelous Handling: proficient
Driving: tremendous Passing: wondrous
Inside Shot: tremendous Inside Def.: prolific
Rebounding: prominent Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: strong

Experience: respectable

or

Jump Shot: prodigious Jump Range: prolific
Outside Def.: marvelous Handling: sensational
Driving: prominent Passing: prodigious
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: wondrous
Rebounding: prominent Shot Blocking: mediocre
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: strong

Experience: average
which would leave me with around 1 million left and then I can buy a guard and a big. Or would that be a bad decision?

Or even a cheaper guy like:
Jump Shot: marvelous Jump Range: prominent
Outside Def.: prolific Handling: prolific
Driving: sensational Passing: strong
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: prolific
Rebounding: strong Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: average Free Throw: mediocre

Experience: strong

So that I have more money and salary space for a big and a couple guards.

You need guards! Maybe in the 50k salary range, a good defending and passing PG and a good penetrating SG with high driving and OD skill. 15 OD is the key!

Maybe get a better center too.

Play look inside offense and man to man defense, and you will destroy your opponents.

Having spent weeks tracking every decent SF on the market much of last season you wont get players like that for $1.5 million, more like $2.5 or more unless they are very old.

Yeah. Tungi bought two top notch 26 and 28 year old SFs for 3 million each. Btw you do know about Tungi's sudden 'surge' right?? He was tanking and unleashing a little before the all star week.

I have seen some of his players. He could be very dangerous...
