This would probably sadden Fewmit as I'm sure he'd love to have this guy carry a squad in the future but I agree with your statement Natellio. I think if there ever was a prospect who has the perfect start to ignore the U21 team and plan to be an impact NT player this guy is him.

I DM'd and suggested to start with secondaries and if this guy's team can promote as he trains then he wont have to worry about an unsustainable salary and he could have a future NT PF on his hands. That's a long way out but its a possibility.

Also, you have to look at the fact that the out of position training has to get done eventually if you want the full package. I have a U21 hopeful that I will have to do out of position stuff with for his entire 22yo season as I couldn't with him in pursuit of U21 and can't still during the U21 season or he'll be passed up and end up dropping off the team. I'm going to have a 50k+ guard I have to play at C for as close to a full season as possible while still competing and that'll be rough; it's that or leave him salary inefficient with no secondaries and watch him get run over by the guys who took the time and did the painful training with their guys. Not to mention, since it wasn't done when he was young it may take 2 season to reach my goals for him; it would have been much faster and cheaper to do it first and ignore the U21. Of course, that's my personal situation affect how I see this situation so it may or may not be the best advice but it's the way I see it.

I have two PF trainees on my team and went 1v1 F all last season and this season I'm doing OD/PA. If you want to make him a great PF, I suggest this.

haha well since I was the guy who told you what a nice player you have I figured I'd pitch in. THIS TRAINEE IS AMAZING. The best well rounded big man I have ever seen as an 18 year old. He could easily be trained into a U21 PF/C. Big men with this good of stamina, secondaries and free throws is very very rare. I would make him a PF. Considering he is already solid all around, I would just look at getting his OD up to 8 (3 pops) and ID up to 11 (4 pops) then go into some 1v1 for forwards. This guy is very special so make good use of him. I'm glad I convinced you to post him here

Another thing to keep in mind. If you sold him he could probably go for over 1.5 million in my opinion, but ultimately he is your guy and he could become the core of your team so I'll let you weigh the options.

I agree with EBW, but also consider his potential cap. Despite his almost perfect starting skills, he may never be an elite NT PF. Reason? Cap at around $150k salary (potentially lower). He could be an incredible U21 PF, at which point you could switch to secondaries and make him an inside SF. Either way, look to pump that OD and ID as much as possible, and switch to 1v1 for forwards.

It hurts me to say, but his value on the TL is probably more than he's worth to keep (especially being american), but, a lot of the fun in this game is in the training, so making this guy a top 100 BB player could well be more rewarding than winning NBBA. At some point, it's likely you'll have to sell him anyway (if you don't promote every 2 seasons), unless you have flawless training, he could well go for less than selling him right now.

Either way, phenomenal prospect. I'm sure you'll get some great advice moving forward. If you do test the market, make sure you list him for a v high price to start with.

If he had one more level of potential, he'd be a flawless prospect. That being said, he looks set up to be a great SF/PF hybrid player for both the NT and U21 if trained right. Excellent rookie.

I had the opportunity to decide to sell or keep an amazing prospect in Devin Farnsworth. I ended up selling him against my guy feeling and got 3.1 million. I'd say it was worth it. Just something to consider as well.

Thanks for the advice all. I think I'm going to keep him and go for U21. I figure if I'm going to keep this guy then I need to promote this year so I'll look to add a quality PG and a couple of cheap outside defenders then pump up the stadium.

If you're thinking of selling him if you don't promote, i would suggest doing 1 position training as much as possible (IS/ID, ideally OD or PS but whatever)

Can get like $10-$40k a week, only on the weeks that he plays at least some game time for the U21. This guy won't be in the U21 until at least the age of 20, so it's not something you should factor in now.

So if it goes well, he makes the U21 and then turns 22, whats next? What kind of player do you want after that, cause he's not even reached his prime.

The best financial move is likely to sell him now unless you plan to build a very well rounded player that has a ton of skills for a lower salary. The latter are very hard to find exactly how you want and extremely expensive. If you go that route then there's a good chance he wont make the U21 though, cause it will require lots of time training non primary skills.

Holy Toledo, Batman! Well rounded player! Strong FT shooting? Wow. Never seen that before. Too bad he wasn't 10+ POT, he'd be a godsend at the PF position for the NT. I'd pay millions for him.
