I do feel that people overpay for potential, but do take a look at the other 11 players who are 20 or younger, 7'0" or taller and have at least MVP potential on the transfer market. He's pretty much in the middle of the pack in terms of what is being asked or currently being bid. Just the fact that there are only 12 such players on the market tells you part of the reason for the high price.

Yes, that actually happens. Quite a bit actually. Especially early in the year. If you need help learning any of the ins and outs about players or anything you can BB-Mail me and I'd be glad to help.

I have 1757 players for sale and I'm $25,835,360 in debt. Buy them at outrageous prices, or be selfish and make me go bankrupt. You decide, BB.

but that doesnt make him valuable if there are 12 or 20 guys on the market doesnt matter what matter is that if there was one of his type on the transfer market then his value would increase tremondusly. I just dont see how he gets 400k in profit for basically nothing of a player whose not even ready to play in regular season yet

Heading on the right path so far. Are you?

12 or 20 guys on the TL versus 22,000 teams wanting to train players up to get benefits with the Training Extension Tax.

Supply always impacts value in an open market. Here there is a very low supply of tall players who are young and have high potential. If someone wants to train an elite big man, they are going to have to pay the market price, which is going to be increased as a result of the limited supply.
Yes, there is some luck (not necessarily all luck though, depending on how one uses draft scouting points) in getting a young player with great potential (and the right height), but that too is part of the game.
If you don't think a player is worth the price, don't bid on him. Realistically, I wouldn't advise people to bid on MVP potential players unless they really have a solid understanding of how training works and have a clear plan for how they intend to train the player they are bidding on. MVP and higher potential players are not someone you go searching for on the transfer market if you are simply looking for a low salary guy to plug into your team.

you can probably cut that number by 15% just making a number up whose have a set team and have team field already and is homegrown and doesnt look into the transfer market but rather save money by going into the draft.

12-20 out of 10,000 would be the exact same thing. Supply and demand.

we were just using 12-20 as a example werent we? Someone else already knew the number of players for the position of powerfoward unless they were making it up as well. Straight to the point here it doesnt matter if there was a 100 players in the market at the same position or 12 players in the market for the position what matters is that there is less of and object means more valuable to the player plus team

I think the point you might be missing, most attributed to playing a short time, is that players can go for a high price if the owner wants them for any reason(high salary, low salary, great starting skills, high potential, named Thomas) and some attributes create an atmosphere of high prices whether or not the player is ready to play regular starter minutes or not. Just from looking at your players salaries, I wouldn't buy any of them with the intention of them being a competitive starter, even with my team being a bit less competitive this year going for an all-American team.
